Very quiet here today. Are the loyalists now in shock at the continued underperformance of this laggard, as the FTSE steams on ahead to new highs!!

Still languishing!! Wish I had bought a Aviva.

Aviva (Bull) up 20% over a 5 year period.

Legal & General (Bear) down 16% in the same period!!

He ho, nuff said.

It's too early to say. All I know is that his eagerly awaited strategy announcement, including a 3% reduction in the dividend increase, went down like a lead balloon in the city.

In the last 5 years the FTSE is up nearly 9%

In the same period LGEN is down over 15%

The stats speak for themselves.

Also the dividend increase per annum is reducing from 5% to 2%, so no growth but in line with inflation. The tax on dividends has also increased significantly and will no doubt increase further under a Labour government.

I do sympathise with you Nomad1 that LGEN continues to bumble along with steadily decreasing capital value over the medium term.

The generous dividend is welcome, but now heavily taxed!!

It's sad to say that premium bonds are possibly a better option.

Simone's pledge to return money to long suffering shareholders has not come to fruition yet and probably never will?

I need to realise some capital soon, but I need the share price to be my average of £2.63 otherwise will sell at a loss.

Surprisingly the CEO has no previous experience in insurance and doesn't seem to be able to tune into the city. How much longer is LGEN going to languish whilst the FTSE steams ahead.

I thought that the buyback would increase the value of the shares!? Obviously not as the share price is still languishing even though the FTSE is hitting all time highs. If there is a market correction to below 8000, LGEN will probably go below £2 a share

Dear oh dear!! What more can I say. The FTSE is racing away and LGEN is a shorters target!!

It's obvious that confidence has drained away and likely the price will languish for some time yet. The CEO has shown that the company is not in as good shape as previously thought, so returns to shareholders have been cut back. Hopefully he can turn things around in the medium term. I was hoping to retire soon and start spending some of the capital before the taxman gets his 40% inheritance (probably 50% under labour and 15% dividend tax) but will now have to wait a bit longer.

What's your secret, or are you in denial?I note that Aviva is up 20% over the last year with a strong dividend policy.

Comparing that with L&G? Well, I get upset just thinking about it. Certainly have backed the wrong horse!!

Looks like this basket case has become a day traders stock and the shorters have moved in for the time being.

Wish I hadn't opted for reinvesting my dividend in my ISA. Should have paid away!!
