OPEC.....price of oil is going up and HUR looks very cheap at 3p a share for a company producing 14,500 bopd.

Short answer, HUR failed to deliver.
That said HUR is still producing 13,000 bopd while say CNE is averaging 24,000 bopd.
HUR is 3p a share while CNE is 148p
CNE has a debt to capital ratio of 18% while HUR is about 44% so more debt at Hurricane Energy but does that justify the sp gap?

19 minutes in and no stable share price quoted here. Turbulent start to trading?

HL filled order for 20,000 more at 38.75p my aggregate sp for the SIPP just over 25p.

Have left a fill or kill order with HL at 40p a share which is 4% above opening price and even then not sure I will catch a wave here! Fortunately I have been adding for a couple of years through the bad times. On the basis of the recent RNS I cannot see SOLG attracting low ball bids this month. The potential sp maybe north of 300p in a few years time once production is under way.

In line with expectations pumping 12-14000 bopd from one well. Not sure how the market will react but I am inclined to hold.

Interesting point made below re the market makers. After a good run one might expect some profit taking and a drop back in share price on a small miner like SOLG. Personally, I hold a 6 figure number of shares and considered that option but decided not to take profits until the sp is much higher because of the potential resources under their acreage. I would expect the sp to continue to climb as small investors jump on board and neither they or the institutions are going to sell on the cheap. North of 50p before I would consider selling some of my holding.

While I remain a supporter of nuclear power as a base load provider for electricity generation one has to be realistic with BKY. We need some specific and positive news on the permits required to start production. The speculative run up in sp over the past few months was fun but the hope and hot air has run out!.

A good post, I am not yet invested here but watch the uranium market and have also been disappointed by the price of miners over the past year. YCA is an interesting play and while I hold Cameco which is a major dealer of uranium fuel I am considering a punt here too. What am I waiting for? The US election to play out and for the markets to react so not buying YCA just yet but I am a fan.

Seaking, how big a market for their products and what if anything is the opposition? I assume that the Americans are working on similar products? Like others here sort of stumbled across COG, have just read a few news stories on the FT and looked at the company website. Seems very niche but the schizophrenia market for example is enormous.

Interesting to see PMO swallowed up by a private equity buyer accumulating north sea oil and gas assets.

With an RNS like that I logged onto HL SIP and took profits or stop lossed to raise cash to buy 20,000 more here. In view of the recent news and with end of year fast approaching I would expect a bid in 2020. Probably not a very good one from BHP but if it involved cash and their shares I would be interested.

RB, inclined to agree I have a small stake here but would like to see all three licences approved before punting more of my money into SRB. Politics in Brazil complicated and this is a small player with little international muscle so some political risk compared to the likes of Barrick or BHP.

I am not buying the dips or further averaging down as I am in too deep but I will add on news about shipments of oil.

If HUR continues to ship oil and the average daily production sits around 12,000 bopd then I will hold. If the production rates falter then I am out because this could turn into a wipe out stock for small investors.

I recently wrote a letter to the company (Ben Bil.) and received a prompt reply via email from the company secretary. While I have agreed not to quote exerts from the letter he was of the view that these had been very challenging times but the company outlook was good with the expectation of more orders from the oil and gas industry as a means to cut down on gas leaks which are of course greenhouse gas sources of trouble.

While I am not entirely convinced I was reassured that the company acknowledged my concerns promptly and offered a comprehensive reply with some useful opinions on our future prospects. I am therefore going to hold and hope adding more shares as and when better news emerges.

Not much, but I am in the blue on OBD so content to wait and see.

Having to buy at 30p a share earlier this week well you are now up 10%. Not bad for those new to investing in SOLG, the rest of us had to be very patient and sometimes quite brave!

As hoped nicely up on the news. I would not sweat the frustrations of trying to buy right now a bit above 30p is not going to hurt if you are going to hold for a year or two.
