Cairn Energy might be different since there is a Cairn Oil & Gas India owned by Vedanta. I did wonder if Vedanta might be tempted to buy us out and then do a sweetheart deal with the Indian Government over the tax? In India, any level of corruption is possible!

A few more shares taking my total to a very modest 5,000 on hopes of a cold winter, better gas prices and the outside chance of more North Sea Consolidation.

What if there is no bid for SOLG over the next couple of months? Not the end of the world but what would the impact be on the share price? The sp run up and comments seem to be strongly fueled by an assumption that BHP or another major will place a bid.

Turning SOLG into a production company not impossible but it will take time and money so the sp may dip further but would ultimately reward the patient investor imo. Hence hoping for a bid and quick profit but able to buy dips and wait it out.

That is a familiar story for those of us who punt on small biotechs. I recall long periods of penny sharedom with Oxford Biomedica until it finally consolidated and started building production facilities (Oxbox). That said OXB has not really boomed in value since consolidation and has slumped from £10 to £8.60 ish.
I am more optimistic about IMM and feel we are getting closer (1-2 years) to P3 success but that may be an optimistic figure. If the drug works then a very large return on investment from where we are today. If......

Depends, some of us day traded into OMI early yesterday but 24hrs later have become long term holders looking to buy a few more on the dips! Trouble is this is not dipping or likely too for a while so grateful for what I have.

I am sat on a large number of shares and remain optimistic in the longer term (months) but would not care to predict how today will pan out. One of the probs here on LSE basic is that I can never be quite sure how many of the deals listed are buys or sells. Clearly forces at work yesterday to drop the sp but I suspect there were plenty of smaller private investors buying that dip. Wait and see, 2 mins to go!.

Serendipity I saw the 0700 RNS and did a little reading before buying 10,000 at 18p this morning. I like investing in Colombia as I did well in the past with AMER so took a punt and it has paid off nicely. May add on future dips as OMI looks like a great long term investment.

Meh! There are always volatile days like this with small exploration companies regardless of whether its silver, gold, copper or oil and gas. One just has to be patient and keep an eye on the fundamentals. As it happens I sold some this morning and jumped on Orosur mining and made a few quid.
But when I saw -9% I bought back in and ended the day with more SOLG shares than when I started because I thought the RNS very promising and that the price was a tree shake by market manipulators aka market makers.

Someone just purchased 200,000. Wonder where the sp will be by market close today?
Suspect the sp will be well north of 50p by year end.

Sold a modest number at market open to use cash on another miner but when SOLG dropped by 9% felt inclined to buy back in. Managed to get 35,000 a few mins ago at just under 38p which I thought a good bet.

Thank you for the views and news very helpful. I have traded a bit of SOLG to buy here today in the hope that OMI has the potential to return a very good profit. I remain heavily invested in SOLG but wanted to diversify some of that cash into other miners and OMI looks ready to pop.

Maybe, no news driving this as far as I can tell but if drops anymore I might buy back my shares sold 40 mins ago.

I was a bit concerned by the cash at hand and wondered how long it will last, do board members think there will be any dilution as shares are created to raise money for further drilling or is Newmont paying for that?

Sold a modest number today to lock in some profits and used a little to buy a small stake of 10,000 share in OMI a gold miner in Columbia. Anyone else taken profits or re allocated cash from SOLG into other miners?

I saw the news this morning had a scan of the website and was encouraged that OMI is partnered with Newmont so purchased 10,000 just now for a tad over 18p. Its a punt with some political and security risks but Colombia coming out of 40 years of anarchy and the appetite for drug and civil wars probably far less now than 10 years ago imo.

Well you cannot argue with that, down 9.6% with minutes to go.
Either we get better news and more oil flowing quickly or HUR will get shorted down to 1p and small investors wiped out.

True but it is not over until the fat lady at BHP sings in a week or so from now so buying at these prices still a good bet.

Personally, happy to hold and wait because SOLG with capital support could morph from exploration into a production company with world class resources.

Thanks but doing very nicely with SOLG and hoping that IMM comes good. I have a diversified portfolio and HUR is only a modest punt which has thus far gone badly for me but patience and news is the key here imo.

Interesting that Ekofisk relies on water injection to maintain oil production pressure. Oil extraction geology something I know zip about but the production figures at Lancaster remain on target so patiently holding

From "buy" to add..... Not that I give a shot. The price today I think assumes there will be no cash from the tax case with the Indian Gov. while I think there will be a modest payout and a special dividend in 2021 hence holding.
