Yes absolutely !

Companies such as Johnson Matthey are currently working on solid-state battery chemistry

but that technology is a long way off , at least in this country . Sodium-ion is a much cheaper alternative. There is so much talk about car batteries that people forget about solar energy and in hotter climates its a real household energy saver . Aircon. and refrigeration being the main consumers of course. Solar panels are becoming much more affordable along with the batteries . Then there are advanced household energy management systems which work out how much solar energy can be given back to the grid or used within the household. These smart solar systems pay for themselves and then some . They save money and are a great investment in the long run . I can see a future when most households will have solar energy systems. Like mobile phones it will be the norm .

The sp is ridiculously cheap given the market potential . There's always competition but the barriers to entry in the industry are pretty huge with patent protection and years of development involved.

The technology and chemistry is forever changing but AMTE have a lead and others will catch up but the market is huge and for the taking right now 👌

It's such a shame that the British Government can't back and support AMTE ...perhaps it's because it's always raining here and the drab men in grey suits who walk the corridors of power are only concerned with the whereabouts of their umbrella 🌂 Either that or they think the sun shines out of their posterior 😀 Either which way.... they are missing a trick !

This is what Peter Carlsson , Northvolt's chief executive and co-founder told the Financial Times when discussing their sodium-ion battery .....

" The new technology could be worth tens of billions of dollars as it opens up regions such as the Middle East , Africa and India for battery powered energy storage for the Swedish group "

The ft goes on to say..... " He estimated that in 10 years' time the order book for energy storage could be " as big or potentially bigger than the current portfolio " of batteries for electric vehicles for which Northvolt has received orders of $55 billion "

So there it is from the horses mouth ....that's the market AMTE is looking at !

Northvolt who also have just developed a sodium-ion battery think the market for the battery is worth billions (see FT article) because its much cheaper than a lithium ion alternative.

So opening up markets in developing countries. Northvolt's battery has a slightly better spec. than AMTE's but I'm sure AMTE can improve with some modifications. It's a developing science and evolves over time I guess . There is serious money to be made here even with competition from Northvolt .

There could be another offer from another company now that the Britishvolt site is up for grabs 😉 But if not then it's Pinnacle or bust !

The government needs to pull their finger out and start backing British talent ! Even more important to do so now that we are no longer part of the EU . They are missing the boat 🚢

Our government needs to back AMTE and build a gigafactory otherwise we will loose out to Sweden !

Never before have solar panels been as cheap or efficient as they are today . Sodium-ion batteries are a significantly cheaper option than lithium-ion so this opens up a world market in solar energy to emerging countries such as Brazil and India. Solar energy is now affordable for populations in developing and emerging economies . There is huge potential to tap into this world market .

If Amte could strike and exclusive supply deal (USA market only say ) with Tesla for its Ultra safe sodium-ion batteries then that would be awesome. It needs a deal like that to send the sp to the moon ! At least Pinnacle have contacts in the southern USA which is a fantastic market for solar panels . Hope they can pull it off !
