The discovery of hydrogen is the big deal for me here .

As previously stated even if there isn't enough hydrogen for it to be commercial there could be enough hydrogen byproduct to run the whole site and more . Having your own energy supply makes the whole project that much more profitable. Also it means banks would be more willing to lend money for the project if they know the loans can be repaid in double quick time with minimal risk . That's great for investors like us as it means no more dilution . The infrastructure for the plant is far less expensive than in the oil industry and could possibly be funded by loans and not equity dilution . All because of the hydrogen discovery .

The price of helium has more than doubled since 2021 see Noble Helium's December 2023 investor presentation for the helium price graph . Entitled "Primary green helium for a high tech World "

They sure should ! Plus there is the huge increase in the market price of helium since 2021 !

Even if the hydrogen isn't commercial as a quantity then perhaps as a byproduct it could be used to run the whole plant and more . Who knows but very exciting.

This is also some essential weekend reading which explains the unlimited amount of hydrogen being produced underneath the drill site . The process of serpentinization needing rocks which are formed from magma . These igneous rocks are formed from magma coming through due to continental drift activity in the region directly beneath the drill site .

The other necessary ingredient is water 💧 the drill site being right next to Lake Rukwa .

Scrolling down to near the bottom you can see the Itumbula drill site and it shows the hole going all the way down to the basement rock . It intersects four blue 💙 traps on the way plus the very long fault line . The longest in the region. So if this doesn't produce results then nothing will !

The drill hole has reached the basement rock which is metamorphic . The well intersects four helium/hydrogen traps PLUS a very long fault line (one of the longest in the area ) . Underneath the basement rock there is lots of tectonic activity which is probably reacting with the water from the adjacent lake to produce hydrogen by way of serpentinization which is a reaction with rocks formed from magma and water 💧 . You have to have igneous rocks (formed from magma ) for serpentinization ( the production of hydrogen) to happen .

Another point is that the hydrogen is most concentrated in the top layer of the lake beds formation. This would mean that if further Wells were drilled to extract more hydrogen then they wouldn't have to drill down very far . Which opens up the possibility of multiple drill holes in a short space of time .

Looking at the last RNS there are sufficiently high hydrogen levels from the basement up but when you get to the Lake Bed Formation , at the top, its 2000 times higher !

Looking at the area directly beneath the Rutwa Rift Basin where the well has been drilled there is rifting of the earth's crust and associated magmatism. That is the source of magma which is needed to react with water to form hydrogen in the process of serpentinization . Everything is there for hydrogen production and its continuous as long as there is water which there is !

Cheers Neil ! The magma rocks and water are the key , plus the faults and traps . Hydrogen didn't show in other drills in the area so I don't think it's all generated from the radioactive reaction with the granite .
