RE: EOG and PVR13 Oct 2018 12:45
Interesting discussion 're eog vs pvr.
I didn't buy eog as purely an offshore Irish play and am disappointed I find myself in that position hence had I had that choice originally and knowing this was where we would be now with regard to our assets some three years ago, I certainly would have opted for pvr assets then.
However talking now, if you want to compare like for like and respective possible returns I would probably buy eog versus pvr. This is because imho, although the assets are probably technically more sound at pvr the chance of getting higher respective investment returns is probably in eogs favour with regard to mkt capitalisation uplifts.
With regard to respective mgts they are obviously quite different but I would have thought pvr's were a little more 'heavyweight' as well but, that doesn't mean eog cannot achieve a commercial discovery?
I take some comfort that pvr has achieved good farm downs when considering eogs position (so hope they can as well!) but, constantly am reminded imho I do prefer pvr's technically but maybe, I am just influenced by the brilliance of salesman TOR?
Don't forget though they are both 'relatively' risky investments.
Regarding this talked of well next year and respective finance arrangements, am I the only one thinking the Canadian pension fund maybe involved in this in some way?
All above imho and as ever dyor of course.
