That would be pretty quick and still leave you with electrolyte that either needs its oxidation state changing by electrolysis or chemical means.

I can't imagine that it would be worth spending the money to go into manuacture of this type of specialist polymer. As with most polymers, once the market takes off the price of the membranes will plummet, unlike the cost of the electrolyte which looks like staying high :-)
