RE: Position now, from AGM discussion.,2 May 2019 12:58
Thanks to all for summarising the statements made at the AGM, some of which I had missed.
Like most of the forum members, we are currently sitting on a hugely, damaging loss that will make quite a hole in our retirement funds. My wife has never really understood why I first invested in AFC and have held on for so long, which is why I brought her to the AGM this week, to hear firsthand from Rennocks and Bond and to talk to other investors.
We both came away feeling quite positive about the new strategic direction of concentrating on developing the installation of EV chargers under the agreement with ROLEC, finding partners to install Off Grid Generation Displacement units, whilst continuing to improve the efficiency and viability of the larger stacks, and development of the High Power Density AFC, as well as continuing with other projects to see how they develop (Southern Oil, Stade, etc.).
In comparison with previous chairmen (like Yeo), we were strangely impressed with Rennocks' professional performance and he certainly had "balls" in making his various statements, knowing beforehand what he would be faced with from the shareholders. I would certainly give him another year to provide the market with some positive news releases. We have full confidence in Bond.
Our main disappointment was only to be shown the BMW being charged, whereas I had been hoping to see more of the workshops and other buildings, not just what seemed to be a room especially hired for the meeting. I had also hoped that the discussions on the housing and power systems for Dunsfold Park would have been more advanced.
I am looking forward to viewing the Proactive interview and in seeing if it makes any impact on the SP.
