I posted a link to A Random Investors April YT video on the QBT board earlier today.
About 8.3 mins in he gets into the all in cost to mine a btc by using each miners last financials.
He has Argo future cost to mine at about $19k per btc.

Worth a watch imo

Most BTC miners are probably mining at a loss as of today when the all in cost per coin less depreciation is included. An example would be RIOT's all in cpc at about $26k. With energy costs likely to increase over time strength of balance sheet, HODL and ability to raise funds are all in play for the miners with BTC down at this level.

The lack of reference to R&D detail (numbers) in yesterdays update leads me to believe that a few Ace cards have been held back that are expected to increase the sp as we close in on options expiries.

Just my thunking as to why important info that could have really moved the sp seemed to be missing.

There are a lot of options now in play and the consultant experts 10M expire on 15 August 2022.

TBF the clue is in the name, QBT

They are not looking to go down the dilute share holders to the tune of £100M and then borrow another £100M to build out what could end up as an expensive tropic fish farm in Texas (Argo banter;)

But to succeed in disrupting Bitcoin mining (and it will get disrupted at some point) QBT need to see some of their R&D come to fruition.

Todays RNS suggests they are a few steps closer to seeing those results...

POW is good, encourages clean energy usage, grid stabilization, use of stranded energy and encourages energy company infrastructure investments, well that is if you're a Bitcoin advocate of course ;-)

If QBT can mine faster and cheaper using proprietary techniques, algorithms, AI and optimizations whilst reducing the massive capex requirements seen by other BTC miners they could have a considerable advantage going forward.

Today's update might have benefited from some numbers (any numbers TBH ;) and given Francesco graduated in Theoretical Physics I was somewhat surprised not to at least see R&D simulation numbers being released which could have set the sp alight (if they were as good as we all hope and FG previously alluded to)

Good update but I would have liked to have seen more detail.

I thought the update on 11 March 2022 provided good info on what was is going on...

Couple of months on and there should be some news to release to the market 'soon' ;-)

2nd June 2021 was when the Inhouse R&D programme was announced along with the UK crypto experts one year agreement and 10M options with an exercise of 5p (till Aug)

I' guessing FG may provide a full update at the one year anniversary, if not before ....

Raided my piggy bank and added a few, the hard part was logging into my share trading account and seeing how decimated it was ! lol

If I were FG I would make damn sure I had at least two very strong RNS's lined up to release to the market before I had to buy back 5M shares at 3.185p per share from MCS on the 16th June.

From December RNS;

'The Agreement provides for MCS to buy 5,000,000 shares from Professor Gardin on 16 December 2021 for 3p per share and for Professor Gardin to repurchase the same number of shares from MCS on 16 June 2022 for 3.185p per share.'

This was a subject title in Core Scientific First Quarter 2022 Results.

The conference call/ webcast I found very interesting.

Core Scientific has been one of the biggest suppliers of mining rigs in the US over the past two years, ordering in rigs for Argo and other mining companies as well as building out their own what will be 170,000 rig self mining business at the end of this year. They made more from selling rigs than they did from mining and hosting last year.

Currently they have no new mining rigs on order....

Their R&D spend was up 100% in first Q to +$3M, they hold several mining ops patents and are invested in AI

Feels like there could be a seismic shift coming

QBT ??? ....We'll have to wait and see ;-)
