Flow rates on the 2nd of the two Salta wells should be confirmed any day now, plus news of the drilling in PG. After 250 BOPD from the 1st Salta well, it would be nice to have a hatrick of good news
First (only) trade (so far) this morning has been at 1.93. Ask is 1.9. Looks like prices are on an upward trend*....
*Albeit analysis is based on the statistically small sample size of one
Two one million trades today at 1.8025 and 1.88. Not sure if the 1st is a sell or a buy, but the second is definitely a Buy. It's not usual to see trades of this size in PPC. Does it mean much? Not sure, but it is good to see good volume here. Maybe this is the start of something....
Olivier Mussat, CEO of ATOME, commented: "This is the first key step in ATOME Mobility's development in Paraguay, near the capital Asunción, where the demand for green transport is the highest. We have spent significant time evaluating various electrolyser options with the technical support of the global engineering firm AECOM.
"After a thorough due diligence, partnering with CPH2 for the supply of their 1MW electrolyser which is being manufactured in the UK, made perfect commercial and operational sense for our own project. Their technology has significant advantage inter alia on scalability and the ability to be deployed quickly. We have likewise been impressed by the expertise and transparency of the CPH2 management.
"This concrete investment will see green hydrogen production commence in Paraguay early 2023 representing the start of the decarbonisation of transport in this progressive and forward looking South American country. We are excited by this partnership of two British companies fully aligned strategically, with the support of the UK Government, as we lead the way for green hydrogen mobility in Latin America."
Twas a really good positive RNS, confirming production up and exports up so sales revenues will be up. And the SP is still the same as before the announcement. Really good news, really disappointing market reaction. Twas ever thus.
Maybe news of flow rates and more drilling in Salta/PG might help.... maybe all these good things are like adding pressure to a volcano so although the SP hasn't moved yet, when it does it could really go..... or not. Generally with President it's 'or not' but maybe next time it'll be different....
Cracking RNS, opens up at 1.8, and the price has dropped back 1.6. This share really is infuriating. Will try and switch off for this afternoon and focus on my other investments. I'm backing Constitution Hill in the 13:30, and of course Honeysuckle in the Champion Hurdle later
At the moment I'm disappointed with the market's reaction here. It's a really good RNS. Confirmation of huge cashflows in to PPC. I'm hoping (based on no particular calculations) that this news can help PPC gather momentum this week and take the SP back to the 2.5p range
That's about the most positive RNS that I can remember from PPC. Great news from both Argentina & Louisiana. $3m-$3.5m in revenue for March, and that could go up with the DP/PG wells coming online and stabilizing. 19,000 barrel of oil to be exported from Argentina is a very significant amount, hopefully it's not a one-off but rather it could be the start of a trend. More exports and higher prices in Argentina to help it become a proper oil producing country.
Really good that Louisiana is back up online and producing, and "low opex and the continued use of ample tax losses", there will help more of the sells hit the bottom line
115 trades so far today which in one way is great volume, but a lot of these trades are for tiny amounts, E.g. 2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9, shares only. It would cost more in fees to the broker than the shares are worth so it seems nonsensical to me.
What's going on?
Ask is now 1.8p on the plus market (not that there has been any takers at that price yet, but still, good to see it heading in the right direction).
Really good news that no extra funding is required. Nice to see Atome back over the IPO price. Green energy will become a trillion dollar business, Atome at this time has the opportunity to become a market pioneer. I'll continue to hold my shares here I think for a long time....
15p? Yes please! That would be very nice.
@Comeonvog- any guesses on a fair price? All positivity is welcome! ;-)
The buy was for 133,767 shares at 74.75 for £100,000. That's confidence. With that kind of money maybe it's an Investment Fund, and if it is then probably others will follow. If that happens this SP could rise a lot
The rally from 50ish pence has been impressive. Let's hope that there's enough news for ATOM to release enough RNS' to keep this momentum...
The USA government are entering in to talks with Venezuela & Iran to get their oil rather than Russia's. These should be the last regimes they want to do business with (as their political aims are to destroy western liberal democracy). Now, say PPC and the CPC Corporation, of Taiwan got their act together and discovered a huge find in Paraguay, maybe the USA would back a big player to take it over and pay a premium, especially if because no-one stopped Russia in Ukraine, then the assumption must be no-one would stop China taking Taiwan.
*Just* need PPC to get going and strike big in Paraguay.... haha.... only been saying that for nearly a decade now....
Crude now at $139!!!!!!!!! When COVID broke, two years ago the fall in oil price from $70 to sub $20 caused PPC's share price to drop from 4p to 1.5p. Now the oil price is double want it was and PPC are even producing more oil, and President's SP has... oh.... :-(
I get the Argentine capped price argument, and the more shares in issue, issue; however it seems very unfair that when macro news is bad it has a negative impact on PPC's SP, but when macro news is good (for the price of oil I mean obviously not the situation in the Ukraine) this macro news does not have a positive impact on PPC's share price.
'tisn't fair
Fingers crossed that's the timeline they will follow this year.
Plus it's what they haven't said. I think if the drilling was to be commencing in June, then things would have needed to have started moving by now.
I think the drilling will happen this time as the farm-out agreement has been signed. We've already seen the dates slip from H1 to H2 though, and I guess nobody knows yet what unknown factors might push these dates further back again, but I wouldn't be surprised if that was to happen.
Good point that PPC might not be the company to take any find into production. Selling the asset (or all PPC) would be a good call. And if that were ever to happen, I'll happily sell all my shares and walk away being able to look back and say what a good investment PPC was....
Paraguay currently doesn't produce any oil. If President find commercial reserves there later this year, will the Paraguayan Government not get involved and let it be traded for the same price as Brent, or is it more likely the Paraguayan Government will cap the prices like the Argentine gov?
