I just hope with the weight of young scientists (the future hope) researching affimers that AffiDX will be approved and the way paved for poaching the antibody detection market. The diagnostic market should have had affimers involved years ago but relying on licencing of affimers that threatened the status quo was an obvious failed strategy as covid 19 has proved because the big players have just creamed the market with their inferior offering.

Great post Chequemate. I do think in a xcapitalist society that fanancial markets have to be regulated as capitalism is the basis for democracy to work so greed has to be controlled. The FCA do not shoe their teeth enough. I hope this latest capital raise has been spent well and enhances democracy because poor capitalism leads to socialism.

If LFTs are for private purchase only their approval should be on performance criteria only otherwise it is discrimination on grounds of volume/price not quality which is supposedly the Made in the UK selling point. I am sure it is still the scientific protocol and legacy of it that has held out LFT back but for the government to put their own hurdle in the way on grounds of security of supply, volumw and price does not make any sense.

HMGov and PD cannot be conflated. The secondary selection criteria is the method by which PD can be bypassed by Javid for the best test to hit the UK market.

I thought the secondary selection criteria still applies and will enable AffiDX test in the UK if PD is beaten to it by the EU notified body.

The new version has removed the question mark, I had originally thought it was intentional as trials not done yet so expression not verified but it appears it was an error.

Basscadet; IQE will still sell into the EU and keep some research links I am sure but Drew was heavily in with the crowd there while Americo Lemos will be up to speed with Far East and US which are the main markets. Did you check out the ASML chart- acknowledged they have a product rather than a nut or bolt but if IQE can have something indispensable I don't see why they can't have a similar chart.

AgentB; I thought I heard a government spokesman touting biotech as a next big thing to level up and I could only think of AVCT in the north though Liverpool and Leeds are good research centres it would be difficult to match Oxford and Cambridge. Why sell out when IQE are global manufacturers now and new CEO has long admired IQE. He had the ambition to be a CEO is not too old and US and China/global experience at business development level will be applied here . Brexit gives him free rein to exploit the semiconductors in markets he knows well and he should be up for it. Use to hold IQE and will be very interested to watch this. I daresay Dr Nelson lost a bit of heart when we left the EU; ASML has done well from within the EU but former CEO of IQE didn't.

I should have reacted but you do need plenty of liquid funds to do that. They have given me more warning in the past only 1.66% of the placing/retail offer went to PIs, it would have been bigger with more warning.

Thanks for that appraisal and wishes Bigtosh. I am sure a solid business like this will soon gain support. It is sometimes necessary to spend to keep your customers. Still well in profit over a 4 to 6 year time scale. Perhaps the placing has been done in jurisdictions of most expansion for the group and will help with sales.

Why did they bother ringing me to find out why I was doing so well then 2 years ago (I am not an advisory client)? If they have bets running that they will lose on, they will use all legitimate means including the simple ruse of setting the auction close and ringing a client to find out why they are taking a hiding. Did you notice two price extensions?-what is the procedure for those to happen?-I suspect they caused them. Their techniques improve all the time.
