Any mention of AffiDX/AS was mine I never quoted her speech it was more a critical comparison but it would not make sense without an outline of what she said. AS could easily have argued all this instead of cosying up to her at symposia though I think the latest one was web based.

AffiDX could have really aided NHS work pressures but no urgency, no funds and the impression I got was her top flight network and Pfizer and Moderna drive meant the runway opened up for Astra Zeneca her big pharma on board. Scientific heft was the initial impetus needed and this is what AS has been denied by PD and any others that could have merely argued the science not the regulation.

Seems little prospect of the therapeutic division moving north but his essay should focus government on verifying affimers in LFTs asap. They have already said they are upgrading the rail infrastructure so they need to move on to the actual industry support to grow the industries that will use it.

If the best test is not deployed the best course that should have been taken will be based on the data they have without it. As nothing has worked so far I can say no best course of action is there to be analysed apart from lockdown/ppe usage; amelioration via vaccine is not what AVCT is about so without our discussion.

The idiots think PCR is the gold standard. They do not detect infectiousness. It should be a comparative LFT trial. They never move on to affimers as a ground breaking biotech.

The responsible action is to stay safe as no government edict has prevented spread but it seems there are many who do not like that as they are anti government rules instead of pro responsible behaviour as citizens. Boris has not been clear on reasons for his booster push, the main one being he has been unable to control covid spread and despite omicron most likeky being less injurious he is sold on it being bad and therefore thinks jabs as the only successful outcome of DHSC pandemic treatment should be encouraged. I would have employed an effective LFT giving different communities (businesses/care homes) another option.

Democracy leaves choice as an option until acts of parliament change a situation. Bad laws can be like bad viruses taking a while for humanity to shake off. Democracy can act like a virus if badly implemented- QE and low interest rates? Free rein for covid with a decent LFT for self isolation (self imposed) and vaccine if you want one otherwise hands off approach is my prescription.

Quite right Strangy83, politicians are stuck on square one where nothing worked and starting another round of business bashing. Time we exported AffiDX to the world with emergency authorisation at home to prove it up. It is only a test unlike covid which they let rip as usual.

Vaccines wear off and not all want them(a valuable control group ) , Andrew Marr-208,000 children out of school, a number that could probably have been a lot lot less if AffiDX had been authorised, Pinball proved that, why can it not be authorised via flowflex comparison trial, pinhead politicians.

Thanks Pinball. AffiDX taken on Sunday and Monday may have been +ve then if you had taken tests then proving it against Flowflex even more.

Binding Antibody Tests
These common antibody tests use purified proteins of SARS-CoV-2 (not a live virus) to detect the presence of binding antibodies that attach to a virus, per the CDC.

Most of these tests detect antibodies to one of two types of protein from the coronavirus:

Nucleocapsid (N) protein
Spike (S) protein
If you were to get infected with SARS-CoV-2, your body would make antibodies in response to multiple viral proteins, including nucleocapsid and spike protein.

AS needed(hindsight easy) to have ambition as manufacturer at the outset before covid. If an HUA test can get through regulators it will be the foundation for diagnostics and there may be sales in 'protected from covid' environments but when the latest edict to wear masks is openly laughed at noone will take tests they see as meaningless in their perceived post- covid world unless forced to.
