but think they cannot delay 6 months before the GL. In addition what is the point of the interim government setting the tone when BNP eg could change personnel and do what they want. I think the Interim action should include the GL as the obvious start and make the provisions in the Administration of Phulbari legally binding which would be setting the tone. A new party to vote for would then be getting achievements for voting on.

I think the country would support a new party led by the prominent ousters of Hasina who acted without influence. Yunus can be 'cleaned up' by them and cleansed of the US and become pro China. China is the only saviour atm although what they extract as recompense is not always clear but they are focused to achieve results.

One of the articles I read recently reported that there were more migrants in Dhaka or elsewhere than young people remaining on the land in Phulbari. Assuming there are success stories within the migrant community then money sent home must help Phulbari and OPM would help the migrants, ie, more Phulbari people benefit from mining than lose.

There are unsavoury decisions to be made but if they place base load provision at the top of the list and Phulbari would be a good start. Yunus needs a team to chart the route out of debt and act asap on it because it appears no one is coming to his aid atm.

Puts me off Yunus but makes me more pro Phulbari despite comment

because I believe after reading that the poor will definitely be receiving more of the pie and I contest the degradation comment above when good practice combines with Teesta river/resevoir project if that happens too which will both develop and enhance land use while giving those indigenous dwellers and squatters a leg up.

The pressure has been on since February/March to use own resources as Nasrul said but I expect he could not persuade Hasina. The same pressure is here now, the GL must be imminent, we have kept the coal safe from thieves for Bengali benefit.

It is the non recognition of GCM by Bangladesh that is the stumbling block. We surely are a better prospect for business than via Nasrul. The licence held by us has protected the asset for the country otherwise the wallahs would have stripped it for their profit as I said to GP the other day.

Except for the food heading, Phulbari would assist all of the areas. I am beginning to think they forever yak yak yak when as anyone knows, if you start working then your problems start getting solved. They don't deserve 1bn$ if they don't start work on Phulbari. Why should the rest of the world provide coal when they already have it. Show some responsibility.
