Combining disrespect with a post I do agree with rather loses the force of the argument YKIR. The treatment of GCM is something to lament but I think the fault and comicality lies within Bangladesh.

I wouldn't mind if he combined Grameen with green and renewables and no growth but he has veered to being a puppet of global hegemonies tied to power and money. I think he is guaranteed to lose that smile if he doesn't wake up.

I don't know whether Yunus hides behind a smile while taking dictatorial action or whether his strings are pulled; I expect the latter but the forces behind are using his green bent to get control through pretence.

Bangladesh's fair face in international diplomacy has quickly got ugly.

Hasina supporters with Narendra Modi links could be in for a hard time if the muslim brotherhood pull Yunus' strings. Those islamist marchers were the first to celebrate the new government and must have been emboldened by something Yunus did I would have thought.

When will Bangladesh grow up; the BNP said all the right things post the rebellion but Yunus is in the grip of sinister power grabbers who have his ear. Maybe he sees Grameen as a natural fit with Islam. Yunus' appeal was his secular(business success) and democratic status but he has quickly been subverted as he has no political experience and we need to know the power behind the throne causing the ordinance.

Phulbari would be less prone to disruption I suspect as long as pumps can empty a pit filling with water but the pumps controlling ground water to prevent acid conditions would help with late monsoon rain aswell as providing for three crops. Power station and extracted coal supply piled up would carry on business.

Unfortunately, whenever a hurricane-strength storm makes landfall (or even while still over the ocean), a certain level of destruction is almost guaranteed.

Yunus has faith the youth and businesses will deliver the dream solution with application and enthusiasm.

He could quell reporters negative comments by sourcing coal from Phulbari and put the BNP back in their box with such a virtuous decision, an about turn on the severe austerity of his solution not to mention all the trees felled for fuel.

Surprised Searcher hasn't commented as his research will be skewed now if critics of Yunus or BNP become thin on the ground. It has been one of the pleasures of investment in GCM to read all views in the press.

Yunus has his job to do in removing structures of government requiring reform and righting wrongs of AL up to a point (without it being a vendetta imo) but he really should have an all party council for dealing with sustainable power generation and not think he can impose renewables.
