Social License to Operate has not been put into action reading that. The Ethiopian bosses are in favour but the locals not engaged properly. Ethiopia has to put in more effort and appreciate how capitalism works to benefit society with social security aka SLO. A KEFI local liaison on the ground would be a start. USAID coffers drying up where local self help is better could be then be progressed.

HAA has spent years in his affable manner cultivating good relations in Africa and promoting Tulu Kapi. Recently this has coincided with higher gold and a cessation of civil war in the interest of developing commerce and mining as mutually beneficial.

Trump has closed doors at USAID which might impinge in Africa re freeloaders but AFC can help within the continent when Ethiopia finalizes things. Indaba piles pressure on. HAA has also promoted mining norms re finance in Ethiopia that exist elsewhere giving an equal playing field and earned himself an honorary ambassador title in Cyprus. Saudi has stepped up in this respect.

It has been like a mountain to chip away at for HAA but I believe it is beginning to crumble with the more commercial necessity for mineral resources rather overtaking his efforts and providing the final pressure required. He has been aligned with us all along in these matters and served well in my opinion.

Politics trumps business in Africa so does Ethiopia want to collude with filching Nigerian con artist style behaviour or are AFC and the mining ministry going to engage in a bona fide manner. Harry cannot carry weight there but the more conning by the power brokers is satisfied with shareholder money if that is happening, the more negative the outlook. Businesses that can quickly start getting profits or with enough capital to fund itself will not be worried by the above.

There is a step change in Saudi and Ethiopia interest re mineral resource exploitation and this could favour a takeover of KEFI especially if China shuts shop with tariffs by Trump so getting the mine started may not be necessary but not to pursue it vigorously means KEFI is weak and leaking capital.

The building of the new road and relocation if reported soon will help tip the scale toward a decisive environment and cooperation from Nigeria and rather forces ratification of AFC likewise a push could come from the mining ministry. The locals in Tulu Kapi will be taking an interest in their new residences as the access road approaches and they think the inevitable is nearly upon them.

Blind faith that all is going to happen as a matter of course does not work for me but that it should move forward is the obvious Africa never engages.

Bonkers0801; thanks for your reply to MF2017, your ability to write it lucidly with such onslaughts against you and yet combine it with a positive side is a much needed grounded addition for consideration. All heavily invested will be considering their positions in 2025 and especially those new shareholders HAA has managed to get on board to which his latest statement on the GM is directed imo. In his 70's and with enough to retire on he will be open to any decent 'out' I would have thought and to cultivate new international mining interest with visits to symposia seems to have been a major feature for him.

Having said that HAA has many pressures to deliver from the shareholders which if he took as seriously as he should would make you worry over his health at retirement age as he is hardly in a Buffet situation with a company operating in Africa - the opposite of Buffet style.

A Strong 2025 although it would be nice; I am more inclined to look for concrete incremental progress being reported rather than sweeping all encompassing waffling.

With a share price far below the value of the assets, this one should finally recover to a more reasonable valuation in 2025 - though cash may be an issue soon. One hopes this will be resolved through Saudi partners - or Rick comes to the rescue.

I like to think Harry manifests KEFI's future for the benefit of Africans aswell as shareholders. Your prosaic view holds sway with the SP and noone can argue with that. AFC full of Nigerian rich must be one of the toughest nuts to crack but success at KEFI/Ethiopia is something they can help deliver. That is the carrot- 14.29 post but the stick needs to be applied to Ethiopia Government and AFC. Perhaps get a mining giant interested now with the new rules getting them involved and original funders proposed lose out. The market doesn't believe in financial close according to 14.29 post so a kick up the rear is required?
