Roland rat thanks for your reply .Redceo your asked for some suggestions to invest in I have shares in daretrace the ticker is dark the board have accepted an offer of 620 a share the price is now 610 because the offer was made in dollars and the pound has gained on the dollar since the bid was made on the 26/4 the share price at the minute is 586 I would say there is a very good chance this will go through if not this company will be worth more then 610 in the future please DYOR

The thing that makes me laugh about the USO is we only have to deliver parcels 5 days a week and letters 6 days a week but when I worked at RM if someone phoned in sick on the Saturday and the round wasn’t covered the manager would share the parcels out amongst the rest of the staff and leave the letters in the frame. Weather that still happens I don’t know but it just goes to show the management are not bothered about the USO

TMS you could be right about the takeover situation with the GE being July 4th and Labour looking very likely to be the next government I wonder how that will effect DK takeover I know you have always said it has pretty much been approved by the government . But in all likelihood we will have another government before DK offer can be put to a vote by the shareholders and that government might have a different view then this government on DK bid.

Very strange to not have the results by now I’ve got shares in avivia and the quarterly results are already out I’m sure their know the results so why not let the markets know when I worked at RM when we got to work at 6 o’clock by 8 o’clock the manager would print the results out and lay them on the frame you were working on .

TMS the letters may have halved but the parcels have gone through the roof I retired a year ago and I was at RM when it was privatised and when I left we were delivering 5 times the amount of parcels in 2023 then we were in 2013 and you being an investor in this stock will know parcels are where the money is and not the letters

Hmmm the last financial year Royal Mail was state owned it made over 300 million pounds profit which was over 10 years ago so privatisation isn’t always the answer. And the business was never being fined for not hitting it 1st class and 2nd class delivery

Dubs I’m not saying the government will block this but it is a possibility I know TMS doesn’t think it will happen and he may well be right but why do you think the share price is 317 when the board have recommended 370 because the market knows it’s not set in stone this will go through if I knew for definite this offer goes through I would put my house on it who wouldn’t buy at 317 and sell at 370

TMS I would reject the offer . I also hold shares in darktrace bought in at 250 on the IPO and the board have now accepted a bid of 620 I will also be rejecting that’s as well with IDS I might sell 50% of my holding and let the rest ride . Well done on your profit if you sell now .If you choose not to sell and the government put a block on the takeover this will obviously drop a fair bit that is why I will probably sell 50% of my holding

TMS it is true I posted on here when I made the buy and the price was 2.55 when I posted on here .I must admit I got lucky with the timing of DK offer because I hadn’t used my ISA allowance at the time as the bid was at the beginning of April but for the first time ever I’m in agreement with Maximus and I think the company is worth more .

Janet 370 is only good if you bought at a low price some people were buying at well over that price so not such a good price for them

Well my 20k investment at 255 on the day DK made his offer is looking pretty good would have gone more but used all my ISA allowance.

I’m not having a go at you Sid I’m just saying the article is not factual true he didn’t bid 4.5 billion for the company or the share price would have been about 420 roughly and not 320 which is what he bid

Sid786 I wouldn’t pay much attention to that article I’m not sure where you got it from but DK didn’t bid 4.5 billion for ids it was nearer 3.1 billion so whoever wrote it didn’t do much research

Littledickeybird once you said large parcels increased by 2000% I didn’t bother reading the rest of your post . I’ve been told by my former manager that he as got his bonus for the year and he his expecting the results to be good but he wouldn’t be told what increase % wise the volume for parcels were

I can tell you one time when the share price was manipulated and that was when RM went to a PLC vince cable went to hedge funds who were going to buy shares in RM and was told RM was worth 3.3 billion. So a billion shares were put on the market at 330 a share . 2 weeks before the IPO the press were saying RM would go up 25% on the first day Cable went to see the hedge funds and told them he was going to put the price up to 4 pounds a share the reply he got from them was we won’t be buying at that price which would have meant the IPO being a failure on the day RM went on the stock market the price went up 38% . When the share price went well over 5 pounds Cable had to answer questions before a committee as to why he sold RM so cheap an effectively ripped the tax payer off
