Anger you are correct but that decision was made by Kwasi when he was Secretary of State we have a different one now who might have a different opinion and rip that agreement up just like Kwasi mini budget so government change there minds so I don’t think it’s set in stone depends who the Secretary of State is at the time

Scampthedog I think if DK wants to buy the company it would have to go through the government or if he wants to split GLS from IDS it would still have to go through the government . My own feelings on the matter is DK wants IDS but he won’t make a move until the dispute has been resolved and the terms and conditions are changed and the USO has been relaxed the he will buy the 8% he needs to make a takeover bid

Tygra I used to get back early on the light days and then get sent out to do someone else’s delivery not all of it maybe 20 % you couldn’t argue with the manager because he would say you are paid until 2 o’clock so you had to go do it I didn’t even get OT unless I went over my time . Tygra you might want to tell your cousin to be careful because the manager will know he has been finishing early and might want to know why he’s now taking longer with the same work load it all depends what sort of manager he has at his delivery office

Maxipus in your post at 7.30 you say the big boys will dictate what price DK will have to pay for this share and they know 290 is far to cheap well if that’s the case why aren’t they piling in now at 205 . If DK increases his holding to 30% and has to make an offer to take the company over I will be amassed if he pays over 3.5 billion for it which is roughly 75% above the price today

Maximus you don’t think he is bothered about the price he pays for the company you could not be further from the truth . And has you say he will probably have to pay a premium in February of maybe 20% maybe 30% possibly 40% but the way things are going at the minute if the price stays the same as it is now he would only have to pay 290p for it and that’s with a 40% increase on the share

If D K pays 4.3 billion for this company he is an idiot when he will get it cheaper in February we still have the update in the middle of the month and I don’t that’s going to be great reading so it could drop even more the only up side at the minute is if the strike get called of we only had to see yesterday when some of the strike dates were cancelled the impact it had on the share price

For what it’s worth my opinion on how they fund this new pay offer will be increasing the cost of stamps and parcel delivery by 10% possibly a little bit more RM will tell ofgom these price increases which is in line with inflation are needed to protect the USO all in my opinion

Maybe to fund the new pay offer they can sell the shares they bought in the share buy back at roughly 5 pounds sell them at 202p . Only joking

Until the USO is still in place nothing will change IMO . Once that gets taken away that’s. When Dk will pounce . and the shares will fly but until the USO stays has it is I can’t see DK wanting to make a takeover bid . I think ofgom did a review in July and said nothing would change at the moment but with IA perhaps that might change in the future as Oli said interesting times ahead
