Phunt73 the reason they give the money to the shareholders is because it will increase the value of the share . Imagine how bad the share price would be if instead of paying dividends they gave that money to the postman the share price would tank . And it’s not just Royal Mail that goes to any company registeterd as a PLC

I didn’t say you said there would be 10000 redundancy’s. I used that as a figure to show you roughly how much it would cost .But you are still saying there will be redundancy’s but not telling me where the money is coming from . Now I have spoke to 3 different managers at different offices and all 3 told me there will be no redundancy’s for postman what they said was people are leaving the business and not being replaced the term 1 manager used was natural wastage .Now 1 last time where is the money coming from for redundancy’s

Dynamo I have been trying to explain to people we won’t have any postman being made redundant but you just can’t get through to some people I even went down the route where there would be redundancy just to show how much it would cost Royal Mail I give up now I’ve to go baby sit my 2 grandchildren

Ok Anger let’s go down the road that postman are made redundant let’s say 10000 which is roughly 10% of the workforce at an average of 20000 pounds which it would be more then that because the majority of people who will get it will be the ones nearer retirement and would of had the most service that comes to 200 million now that’s a ball park figure . Now admittily that would bring the wage bill down but you have then got to factor in the fines you will get for not achieving your first class and 2nd class targets how do I know they won’t achieve it because they couldn’t do it with 10000 extra postman that is what will happen if you make postman redundant but what do I know

Anger I believe Royal Mail missed there targets for first and second class Mail so will be fined x amount of pounds now make postman redundant and it will happen again that is false economy.has I said in a earlier post I want redundancy but I don’t believe I will get I spoke to my manager about it 6 months ago and his thoughts were there wouldn’t be any redundancy for postman for the reasons I’ve stated in earlier posts

Anger we have now established That ST has said IA might cause redundancy’s now can someone explain to me where 4 offices I know are not clearing the Mail on a regular bases because the office are short staffed why would they make postman redundant and July and August is when Mail is at its lightest I also I believe ispy said the same about his office . Anger if there are redundancy’s in my opinion they will get enough people volunteer to leave I said in my office only 16 people work there and 5 would take it the youngest of the 5 is 57 the oldest is 62.If you read my previous post you will see we can’t fill the 2 vacancies we have got so if there were redundancy’s and let’s say 2 we’re to leave where I work that would be 4 people down ST is just using it has a scare tactic. All this talk of redundancy’s makes me laugh I would welcome it with open arms I’m now 59 and I’m retiring next year when I’m 60 2 vacancies in our office which only have 12 rounds and the dom can’t fill them he’s even asking us posties if we have a relation or a friend who would be interested . In 2018 we had the area manager come to the office and he tol us the average age of the postman was 51 why would they offer redundancy when people are leaving and they can’t get the staff to replace them ps when I said the average age of the postman was 51 that was in the NR area where I work so it could well be 55 by now
