Hi all, stumbled on this from 2012. Old, but even more relevant now than then. A key line in the abstract is

„ Itaconix has successfully produced stable alkylitaconate bio-based latexes using its patent-pending green emulsion polymerization process. The current performance of these latexes is not sufficient to overcome marketplace inertia favoring the well-established petroleum-based latexes.“

9 years later think the inertia is now firmly in our favour. The time is right.

And one thing we can keep reminding ourselves of during this time AUK, is that the last placing of ca. £1M at 12.1p was from investors who I guess know a couple more unknowns than we PIs!

It’s a fascinating time as we wait for news of growth. I’ve been hunting high & low and sleuthing to no avail - and so my take is that NPD activity & news is being managed very very tightly. So in the absence - so far - of finding concrete things on NPD releases and R&D, I did come across this from a while back which makes compelling reading

Of particular interest is the revenue growth curve which has obviously moved out to the right. By how much is the question...!

It's a very large market with lots of potential. At this stage of the rollout, it's too soon to provide specifics and those are ones that we'd be unlikely to disclose.

Not sure the iPod analogy is a clever one Indigo. Apple (in contrast to us!) made HUGE sales, before their own managed product roadmaps (and compete substitutes) called the day on the iPod. After all these years we haven’t made ANY sales on MSAR and it is now being (it would seem) substituted by BioMSAR. I hope it delivers big time, before it falls victim to the same fate as MSAR. This is my first post on QFI after years of being 50% down on a modest painful holding.

AJP production lines “flat out” means $15M revenues annually. Would be nice but I dont think so!

Key points: they are making & selling out of NH for the foreseeable future & have capacity growth available/will not licence. New II cash being used on raw material working capital headroom. Tremendous opportunities from our chemistries “for years to come”.
I’m happy, and still hanging my hat on 20/25p by maybe late next year. If sentiment drives it on quicker, I’m ok with that too!

He gave some pretty strong signals I thought on announcements could follow in H2 and given the selling cycle (enquiry to product sold) as he intimated can be anything between 1 - 5 years, that could be anytime.

Nice buy AUKD, well done! All we need to do is wait and watch the extensive product roadmaps of Itaconix polymer products deliver over the years to come.

EyeOB I’m with you in a ramp being like a red flag - I love the positivity, the story, the strategy delivery, the making of product, the sales, and the rapid progress to break even BUT all of these belong on a realistic timeline, which is why I’ve said in the past my target is around 20/25p by end of 2022, which I think is realistic. If I’m blown out of the water before that, that’s fine too of course!

Put in another £5k myself this morning. I am finding this a fascinating period in the company’s timeline. We’ve had a 5 month trading update - very positive (though not positive enough for some!) - a £1M+ fundraise at 12p. We know a LOT, but I guess some of the institutional investors (eg. IP Group) have a better handle on the “known unknowns” than we do. The half yearly update will I reckon deliver another spoonful of cream and I really hope we get a view on what the new funds are being used for (eg. extra production capacity, which is the ultimate successful sales validation). Last but not least, what really intrigues me is what is going on behind the scenes on NPD. I have tried REALLY hard digging around to find stuff on paints, packaging, et al using itaconic acid derived polymers, giving a pointer to ourselves - but no joy. It is being very tightly managed in my view. Onwards & upwards! DYOR

I see this as VERY positive. With it JS has a bit more headroom - sales growth has been affected by COVID which has pushed out cash generation - and IP Group gives firm affirmation of the company strategy, knowing that the £1M+ quid they’ve just invested will be worth a LOT more in a few years.
