Thanks Private Tesla, read this myself this morning, it's quite interesting. As I mentioned here before, when Vermilion closes down Corrib this summer for a 30 day overdue scheduled & planned maintenance (see Mar 8 news), might they be legally obliged in their fiducial interest to their shareholders, to keep it closed for even longer, to escape the extortionate "tax grab" from the Irish government ? The gas will sell just as well or even better in a year or two, at the old tax rates.

I would hold out too for all the licence extensions, permits, approvals & drills as necessary.

Reading through the RNS, the exercising of options is definitely costly but likely best for those that can afford the risks.

The €1.8 billion raised will pay off a large chunk of outstanding debt & removes the risk of that debt being converted into shares, in even more dilutive event at the end on '23. And as per the future € 80-90 million annual interest payments savings, that's about € 7 million/month savings, so better done in March/April than Nov/Dec. Its also better to effectively pay ourselves this approx 4.7% interest rate, where its future value should show up in the future P/E ratios & Market Cap.

And with a lower debt burden, we can seek better future fuel hedging plans, FYI, aviation fuel is near its 52 week low.

Our view is that we will continue to need to use natural gas, perhaps for decades. Natural gas is a much cleaner fuel than coal, which we also use, and oil, which we use on occasion. It makes sense to see natural gas as a transition fuel. Indeed, the Minister, Deputy Eamon Ryan, has signed off in recent weeks on the purchase of new gas turbines to guarantee energy security next winter. For so long as we are using natural gas as a transitional fuel, it makes sense to use it rather than to import it. More emissions arise from bringing gas in from other parts of the world than from using our own gas if we have it.

I agree that an ESG certified number may help & give Ryan some wiggle room & work alongside the Irish Climate Action Plan goals, but this is at least the third time we have been told basically the same info. (see below again :-)

Europa has a 100% interest in licence FEL 4-19, which contains the significant Inishkea gas prospect.
The Company has engaged Llamas and Bannister Energy Advisors Ltd to assist with a farm out process
which will commence shortly (https://labenergyadvisors.com/). In the event of a successful discovery
at Inishkea, Europa believes that the field alone has the potential to supply at least two thirds of the
gas required for the 2 Gigawatts of new gas-fired power generation committed to in the Irish
Government’s updated Climate Action Plan. The adjacent producing Corrib gas field is one of the
lowest carbon-intensity gases in Europe, much lower than UK imported gas, with a carbon emission
intensity of 4.5 kilograms per boe, compared to 22 kilograms per boe for UK imported gas. The Board
considers it to be probable that gas from Inishkea would be of similarly low carbon intensity.
