Professional - I think if there was a fundraise, it would only be to fund a new trial. No one would take part if it was just to continue paying the salaries and pension. If a new P3 trial was the reason then you would expect the SP to rise quite quickly and significantly, or at least to the 40-70p being bandied about on this thread. So I don’t think investors would need long to make some money. Of course, there are LTHs here with average in prices of £2… that could be a stretch perhaps. But on the flip side you could also argue the odds of failing two P3’s would be less than one, so the market could price it higher.

All guesswork. And hopefully we can have a go at a sensible debate.

Even I’m getting frustrated at the lack of updates. The job advert and possible connection to BP are, like Gunto, keeping me interested.

But Alan, that's the problem... it's once permission is given, which it hasn't been and where there has been zero progress.

Who knows, maybe there really is corruption and reasons why we aren't being given permits.

Tommy - In the interests of balance, you could argue that when they were buying up more shares throughout 2022, they thought there would be some materially good news, i.e. a trial.
They've been stuck at 28.15% for a while now... why not get to 29.99%? Who knows, perhaps they have a strict investment plan in place which says they'd only top up further if sub 10p or the like..

A quite simply astonishingly pointless RNS.

We already know about Velociraptor and renewable JV etc. The only part that we didn’t know about was any update on Heron. Of which there is NO CHANGE. Out of all that, this is the only bit you need to read:

“ progressing although more slowly than the Company was initially advised. We continue to press for rapid action at all levels and this remains our number one priority. “

So basically, as we already knew, they were misled by MG and it is taking longer than they thought (no sh.*t Sherlock, it’s middle of February 2023) and they are continuing (yawn) to “press” for rapid action, because that’s worked so far, not.

One has to wonder, how serious did the mining monster who promised this seem when telling MB. Did MB read him badly, or did he really have an inkling and thought I’ll do the presentation in December anyway (he could have given us the update in October when he said he was told this) and wait just before we need funds, so as to pump the price up.

It’s all a bit smelly really and I’ll have to consider now selling down my additional shares bought in the raise.

Horsesar5e - I agree. The cash raise was shocking. It can only be three things:

1. They know good news is coming and so thought they’d give themselves (the basically locked out retail investors) a load of cheap shares so they make out like bandits when said news arrives.
2. They know bad news is coming, like LP not due anytime soon and that the SP will fall back to 1.6p, so did the raise now while they could.
3. The massively misread the situation back in December when saying no raise would be needed for the foreseeable future and that Heron and Velociraptor 1 were covered.

1 and 2 mean they are crooks. 3 means they are incompetent. Given they are so called experts in everything oil and Mongolian, they should have anticipated perhaps needing cash if this was not the case.

If anyone else has any other potential reasons, I’d love to hear them.

I'm registered and will be 'attending'. But haven't they allocated just 45 minutes for their AGM? Barely enough time to run through any standard resolutions and some basic financials! I expect they'll be a few pre-scripted questions only.

We might get a pre-AGM RNS, but I doubt it will be ground-breaking. I read last year's and it was very much full of words like in discussion, advanced negotiations, proposals and presentations.

Hamm - you can't really talk. You were all "buy buy buy, enjoy the rise" after the presentation in early December, after spending the months before ****ging MB off. Then you went all negative again in recent days.

UWOS - you can (just about) write English but you certainly can’t understand it. I covered the “why did I buy more” question in detail yesterday at 18:32.

Zellman - that could be the case. The optimist might say there’s lots of good news coming so they wanted to do the raise and get cheap shares before the SP shoots up.

And you are someone who believes everything someone says, even if they have form for lying or misleading or missing previously promised deadlines.

1. I bought more following MB’s subsequently found out misleading presentation.
2. I am still hopeful despite us all being misled, but cautious, and didn’t want to be diluted on the raise.
3. I thought if I can buy in on the retail offer at 2.5p I could make some short term profit even if I didn’t want to hold long term.
4. The risk/reward ratio is still worth the punt.
5. I still just about go along with the logic that the MG would be mad not to approve the LP because it would put off any potential future international investors.

Regardless, an investor can still have concerns about a stock they hold and want to hold management to account. Only a silly blind owl wouldn’t want management challenged on how they are running their company or have the blinkers on and say buy buy buy, guaranteed guaranteed guaranteed!

Hopefully the odds are in our favour (but don’t use guaranteed or 99.5%) with Velociraptor and drilling this year (don’t forget, the MG are happy for us to find it but not to get it out of the ground and make money) but LP on Heron which is still by far and away the most important thing for MATD is not by any means certain.

maestro - Dangerous wording. I’m sure even LTHs will tell you nothing is guaranteed with MATD.
