Amazing really - zero comms for a whole year, zero shareholder engagement, and they agree to an EGM because a pi shouts at them. :)

We don't need the EGM - just the trial. When the trial details are announced they'll also have to explain the funding decisions and there will be a level of detail in the operational update RNS that should answer almost all of the questions. Understand why someone might have asked for it at the end of an AGM when the BoD were unable to share anything significant about the next steps - but it was still bizarre that they said yes to it. Caught on the hop I guess and wanting to show shareholders a little mopre respect perhaps, in the wake of all the non existent comms of the last year. We can take it as a sign of confidence - particularly RM's "judge me at the EGM" comment - but as Mani correctly points out EGMs are not really there to give clinical updates.

The point also is that the trial is certainly already delayed on SS's timescale - as the EGM could not happen without this already being announced. How long it's delayed is anyone's guess - but probably the New Year now. We're back with RM's eternally elastic " imminent"

We have exactly 2 weeks Jonny. And nothing happening, or about to happen in the US, is influencing it in the slightest. Even if it's still not announced by Inauguration Day on 20th Jan it will have zero effect on a trial we are led to believe is imminent. Takes a long time to dismantle the apparatus of Govt and self funded trialing is the last thing that will be targeted.

Maybe if they pass the P2 and want to run part of the P3 in the States if might be a factor, but if they were ever in that position they'd have already demonstrated that SNG works in MV and be able to scale it up anywhere.

Shame this equivocation from RM wasn't shared in the AGM round-ups . How did the man who designed the Sprinter trial morph into a lab technician who did good stuff in the early stage development but wasn't the right man for this particular trial ? And what gave SS the confidence that this was the time to step away and that his job was done, and how and why is ANYONE qualifying for over a million 1p shares with not a penny of profit and no trial in 3 years

30p is about right Gampy. Maybe before Christmas. You'll be tempted to stay in when the share hits this , but the next rise won't appear until the P2 comes in golden, and that might be a year later

Thanks Aether. Spacman's scenarios are always tremendously entertaining, and if one of them ever comes true we'll still have our chance of a small glass of mead. It must be fanciful though to encourage LTHs and new investors to imagine that any scenario from here values our old shares at more than 20 or 30p. When they need £15m -£ 20m + just to get past the P2.

Almost all of that is complete nonsense Spacman. But you'll make a lot of simple minded folk happy.

The only thing that matters is the trial protocol - ie the basis they have for RM's coc.ky confidence in the entirely speculative trialing realm of MV , and then - and even more importantly - the partner that will fund it and possibly theP3 that follows.

If it's TFG money, they're clearly chasing their loss . If it's one of the pharma partners who've become attached to UNIVERSAL then they are here for the science first and the punt second.

We'll know which of these is the case soon enough - and we'll be able to judge for ourselves how well they've found their target population.

Historically the best viral clearance tests have been for HIV patients. Will be interesting to see how recent this off the shelf test is, and what its original purpose was. Perhaps something the science bods can advise on. It's really the only relevant thing we can research now until we know more.

It doesn't really matter I guess, as long as the patients identified allows them to demonstrate an improvement in mortality. They'll add age and co-morbidities to the inclusion criteria of course, and this will be the first time Synairgen has ever really tried to target a patient group. It's a shame they don't also have an Auto-ab for ifns test - which would be particularly useful in exactly this trial group. It might have identify as many as 15-18% of patients - even if evidence of Auto-ab for Ifns leading to worse outcomes in ICU is not exactly conclusive.
