Yes they are ready. The only people who need Aerogen solo training will be Synairgen personal.

If you wanna get into it Fruits ( no googling) - they'll be switching from the Aerogen ultra to the solo. Learning curve for the Synairgen techs but almost all ICUs will be completely familiar with it. A big part of the reason for the switch from the Phillips ineb - if you recall the COPD and SG016 vehicle - was to find a device that could go into ICU and be plugged into ventilators. Not that anyone was allowed to do this in Covid trials at the height of the pandemic when the great fear was of aerosolised Covid filling ICU and getting past the inadequate Tory grafter ppe. But reassuring that the co. was thinking of this day even then. Aerogen solo is used to deliver many many drugs in ICU. Interestingly as Synairgen takes the high road - using one of the most expensive nebs on the market in a highly specialised situation to try to get at the MV popiulation, the recently approved COPD maintenance blockbuster drug Ensifentrine takes the low road with a standard jet nebuliser delivering its sweet load to patients twice a day.

Nobody is gonna be as dimwitted as we were in 2020 - handing them tens of millions sight unseen. That money rolled in because of the glory of magic Monday, this time any investor will want to see the entire design and supportive data before giving them a penny. Of course it's possible the trial design isn't complete AND they don't have the money - but that would make the confident words and phrases duplicitous and deceitful beyond imagining, and I dont think that's who they are - and therefore I say again - the trial is ready.

I said it's ready Karley - not signed off - but ready. How else would they have even a scintilla of confidence if neither trial design or financing were ready.

It's Simon Shaw leaning into the comms intern's cubicle and adding a little random happy polish to a dull and disappointing RNS - knowing that a single, carefully chosen word will keep the orcs interested and entertained for weeks.

What's for sure is that the trial is ready. They said it would be in an easily identifiable cohort and I think it's been ready for weeks, possibly months. They still don't have the cash of course - or we'd be looking at an operational update RNS already - but they have been shamed sufficiently into doing their duty and will present something whether the trial is ready or not. If there's no RNS except the one heralding the AGM, then they'll show us something of the trial design and tell us they're working at haste to secure the requisite finance. Same as it ever was.

If Monk wasn't given the push, it's an even worse lookout for him and the company. Leaving his life's work on the threshold, the very verge even, of success, after 20 years of toil for "Fulltime research in Academia? NFP? Travel? Family ? " It don't seem likely really. And if a part timer is employed into a more senior full time role above you - that's pretty much the same as being handed the cardboard box and told to be out of the building in 2 minutes.

It wasn't an RNS about the AGM though - they just added it on as a little teaser in the Monk sacking communication.

It would be nice - but if HM Govt wasn't prepared to insist on a huge nationwide P3 in the immediate aftermath of SG016 and throw all resources behind a potentially game-changing British drug at the height of the pandemic - then it's not going to give us anything for our little investigative P2 in MV.

All that matters is what they tell us at the AGM or by RNS before. Have they got the funding for the MV trial or not.? Their recent language suggests they are close - but then Simon Shaw has misled us before with optimistic phrasing, so we are right to not pay too much attention to words like "excited". Whether RM follows his pal out of the door is largely irrelevant unless the departures are aligned with some sort of acquisition by a big market player who sees something in SNG despite the recent setbacks. Putting someone else in there without funds would be absolutely pointless. TFG can be the prime mover in this but without a trial it's difficult to see what value remains in the company. I doubt RM is leaving though unless it's taken out of the BoDs hands.

TFG invested just as the rest of us did - for the 79% improvement shown in SG016. Their due diligence showed world class founding scientists behind the discovery of Sng. They may have even considered Monk and Marsden to be "best in class" in July 2020 but they made a huge error of judgement in putting so much money in the hands of people who didn't really have the skillset to spend it properly, and bungled the generational opportunity provided by Covid.

TFG has already written this off as a rare mistake - but excusable given the high stakes game they were playing. If Sprinter had come off Synairgen would be a multi Billion £ company. They roled the diced like you and me.

When Colliver signed up in October 2023 it was to join a company planning multiple trials to prove both multi-viral efficacy and test the drug in the largely untreated MV population. If he left now after the capitulation enshrined in the Full year results RNS and departure of the long time architect of Synairgen's trialing programme, nobody would think anything of it. He certainly wouldn't be sloping off. The job he was signed for no longer exists and whatever involvement he's had in raising funds for the trials originally and now the one remaining, has so far led to nothing.

Spacman, I am interested that you still sees a lot of value in the company and thinks there could be suitors if the current leadership is cleared out. Your remarks taking us all the way back to the Spac posts you made when you first appeared on the bb. I'm not sure I see this at all - and don't see how the main thrust of multi-viral research can be revived when the company says they can't do it. They didn't say - if only we had the cash we could continue to develop this line of research - they just said it's over.

Synairgen has no ambitions for COPD brighty. That ship is rotting on the Southampton slipway - next to all the other RVI wrecks they hoped to treat.

( Referencing Gampy's silly bit of ramping was comical ) Fruits and Tommy remaining positive of course on what is undoubtedly another dark day for the company. In terms of long time servants and key personnel, possibly the darkest. Philip Monk - chief architect of the Covid trials and prime mover in the switch to proving the drug as a multi - viral agent after the failure of Sprinter is leaving the company. Leaving with the future still uncertain - the long awaited and easily designed ( to paraphrase Simon Shaw) MV trial nowhere to be seen, and clearly awaiting a sponsor, and the AGM still somewhere off in the distance.

Whether he's been pushed out by TFG or replaced by MM or feels his work is done is neither here nor there. It's another epic fail in the long and tragic story of this company.

Btw - Im sure " Early - stage" relates to outpatients and not the early years of work. Too specific a phrase.

And also sure the AGM rns will be along in the next few days. Whether this means they have news to share or have finally accepted their statutory obligations to shareholders remains to be seen.

Well said TP. I think they been self delusional as much as anything though - and when the train hit the buffers in the spring / early summer they were probably as surprised as shareholders. The flimsiness of the case supporting the MV trial in a "readily identifiable" patient cohort shows that the entire project is very close to an end. And if there is a rationale for SNG working in MV - nobody trusts Synairgen to deliver it.

Jonnyboy the Porton Down ivs had potential meaning until the full year results RNS, after which they became irrelevant as all work relating to variant agnosticism was abandoned. I think it'll transpire that the company requested them itself rather than being invited as we hoped at the time.
