@JoesStocks - these two guys do a good job of working out what is happening with Hav sat imagery and you can also go to GGPChat to get some good breakdowns:

Don't forget in regards to development costs and projections of AISC in DFS :
- that there was a threshold of +/- 25% already factored into the PFS
- whilst you'd expect inflationary pressures to play a part in influencing AISC upwards in DFS, we also have as of yet unknown optimisations to factor into the DFS too that will have helped to combat these
- a 50% increase in production profile from 2mtpa to 3mtpa which does not correlate directly to development cost increase due to economies of scale
- increase in revenue from any increase in production also allows for more lending if required i.e scalable funding as Shaun has alluded to
- ultimately Shaun expects us to retain our relative position as a producer in the lowest cost for gold mining globally
As for the Lassonde Curve, we seem out of sync as much of our development is happening pre DFS/DTM during the 'Orphan Period'. I think the collective of those of us who held expected the existing infrastructure and development work to make us immune to the orphan Period, well it didn't and nor did GGP prove immune to money leaving the sector.
However, the fact that we have funding in principle ready once DFS/DTM made and we'll have already hit the ore body with a production ready decline (vs exploration decline) we should have a shorter phase 2nd wave with the development of stopes etc. towards first ore I presume into 2025 vs 3-5 years away.
Then there should be a another increase in value in time as the bulk or selective mining that will be planned for in addition to the SLOS mining with a PFS, DFS and DTM to increase the ore extracted from Havieron into Tier 1 territory.
'optimisations' is a broad term but could encapsulate findings from various optimisation studies around for instance using electric/solar power, optimising the production through different focus areas to feed into mining plan , looking at better contracts for any services/products required etc.
End of this article has some examples of areas that can be optimised:

Notes from Bloomberg Interview with Tom Palmer - 07 November 2023
Tom Palmer, President and CEO at Newmont, discusses the company’s business strategy and outlook for the mining sector. He speaks with Haidi Stroud-Watts on ‘Daybreak Asia’. (Source: Bloomberg)

@FREDDIE2 - you're saying - 'Now come on , one minute you are all saying telfer is on end of life care now its a main hub for the area , which is it ?'
Really... who is 'all' exactly then Freddo?
What many of us have been saying is that Telfer itself is headed for decommissioning WITHOUT Havieron and that there are likely other promising discoveries in the region including Antipa's Minyari deposit that could also potentially be processed at Telfer.
And another point often made is that Hav/Telfer are essentially tied at the hip if any divestment of Telfer is in any way commercially attractive to a prospective buyer.
Is this really that hard to understand Freddo?!
Come on, get a strong coffee down you and try and keep up :-)

Newmont are as of today fully in charge and by default now committed to the terms of the JV which I assume is completion of the early works programme including delivery of a DFS to determine whether to formally green-light the project and everything seems to be geared to be moving into mid-2024 onwards for these milestones by which time the decline should also reach the ore body.
The current plan seems to be to conduct their '3R review' of NCM assets while integrating them by Feb 2024 when they usually release their Resources & Reserves along with their annual reporting and when they'll announce any planned optimisation within 2024.
Tom Palmer also stated they'd wait until mid-year to confirm their longer-term plans for synergies and optimisations as per his statements in their last earnings call (transcript on GGPChat).
For now, activity is ongoing with the development of Havieron and new jobs are being regularly advertised so whatever is happening in the future, IMO it seems that work continues on the DFS and development as uncertain as everything seems.
If GGP plans to go ahead and release an independent MRE as has been stated by Shaun, we'll been told to expect it in late Q4, which to me suggests a December delivery and IMO will help give some indications as to what might be fed into the DFS jointly with NEM.
Strong case for moving quickly with Havieron if they want too with GGP waiting in the wings.
That statement*** suggests most actions would be triggered 12 months onwards, looking at the GoldCorp model they acted in months 9-12 of a 18 month timeline - perhaps 12-18 months in this 2 year timeline is where they might execute most of their optimisations.
***“We’ll look at the portfolio we have and take our time to integrate it safely, and welcome new colleagues into our business. And then we’ll think carefully about how we might rationalize our portfolio over the next 12 to 24 months to meet that $2 billion commitment,” said Palmer.
Try this :-)
