Surprised no mention by anyone of the latest news regarding mini nucs led by RR.
IMO these plans are too sensible to reach fruition, but who knows, if they go ahead, this will certainly take everyone's eyes off the Trent saga. Now that Hitachi and Toshiba have pied off back to Japan, the odds on this going ahead has risen from pipe dream to possible.

Seems UK has handed £18million to coalition led by RR to design mini nuclear power stations.
Consortium includes Laing O'Rourke and the National Nuclear Lab and wants to build 16 in the UK.
These would be 'rapid assembly' power stations made in UK factories and assembled at existing nuclear sites.
The consortium to match Gov funding meaning £36ml for next stage of the programme.
Project could create 40,000 jobs by 2050, boost the economy by £52bl, and enable UK to be carbon neutral by 2050.
As usual, the project needs to clear regulatory hurdles and choose location for the site.
Apart from that, great news ...

jimjam - dont think this is time to sell. Would have thought the idea of Jeremy getting hold of RBS would have resulted in a sharp decline, but this simply has not happened. IMO could well be a correction upwards as general election result becomes more certain and year-end results/divi approaches, but lets face it, this is RBS where the sp has and will not doubt continue to defy common sense and logic ...

Anyone know whether the purification of the tungsten concentrate and the separation of the tin will be done in plant that has already been commissioned (i.e. Concentrator) or some other plant that has yet to be commissioned ?

fairdealer - heard down pub that Admiral cannot believe their luck.. for them it is a good deal. Each of these pubs has more character than 10 Marston new builds. And to get them so cheaply, significantly below book value implies MARS needs the cash after the failed pianoforte fiasco.

My learned friend down pub informs me that there was a case that lasted 117 years and was only abandoned when the estate in question had been completely consumed by legal fees - which is where Dickens got the plot (case had been running for 55 years before he wrote his novel). Heres hoping PFC are in the clear well before 2136 ...

Going through Unaoil saga, was surprised at how long the process takes even after parties plead guilty. Seems to take a 8-12 months between being found guilty with plea agreement and then being sentenced. The sentencing dates must appeal to someones warped sense of humour :
- two Ahsani brothers guilty on March 25 with plea agreements in place - to be sentenced on April 20, 2020.
- Hunter guilty in August with separate plea agreement - to be sentenced on Friday 13th March 2020 - very bad news for Hunter.

Not being from legal background, does anyone know whether the guilty parties have already dished the dirt as part of the plea agreement or whether the sentence depends on how much dirt they dish before being sentenced ? Guessing the latter is the case and PFC in purgatory well beyond Q1 2020.

Concensus 24p pa last week but 23.53p pa as of today. Not sure if its related, but JPM have reiterated Overweight but reduced target to 260 from 280.

Warthog - many thx for posting this link. Quite apart from the length of time it takes to resolve cases, was surprised to read that only 10 cases concluded per year, about half that number discontinued, and a conviction rate of just 58%.
Had to laugh that they are using AI presumably because they have no human intelligence of their own.
Or so I thought until told down pub that the place is full of scrapers - not slappers as I initially misheard.
Seems they are relying on software scrapers that peruse electronic documents to find links or missing links between names/phones/accounts/values. As if fraudsters will leave such an easy to follow electronic trail or grant access to the incriminating documents in the first place !

Thursday morning and still no divi. Just had online chat and found to my surprise - that Barclays have not received the divi from the registrars and have been chasing it since last week. Registrars are now sending cheque to Barclays and payment to myself expected some time after they have received and processed it. Does not explain to me why clients of IG and AJBell have already been paid. Not sure what to make of it.
