Outlook

It is apparent from the forementioned Seminar and its action-orientated title: "Prospects and Challenges of Bangladesh's Coal Resources and Measures to Overcome", the Government is serious regarding developing its domestic coal resources. It is also apparent from the fact that the Presentation to the Seminar by Ministry officials highlighted the benefits of developing the Phulbari coal mine that the GCM Project is on their radar as an important non-import coal supply solution.

Against this backdrop, it appears the outlook for moving the Project forward has greatly improved and that it is now more the question of when. In the analysis of "when", considerations will involve the sense of urgency driven by the country's economic position and the election schedule. With regard to the former, the economy is reported to remain under pressure with respect to foreign exchange reserves, inflation and purchasing power of the local currency. Compounding this is the mounting uncertainties within the world economy and the suspension of foreign aid by the US government. Regarding the latter, the mainstream political parties are calling for an early election to restore democracy and shore up law and order, however, the Chief Adviser remains circumspect and although has suggested an election by December 2025 is possible, it is also suggested this would depend on acceptance of reforms which are yet to be finalised.

Imho any country that partakes in new domestic fossil fuel extraction will be supported by the US administration as they hate the whole idea of the c02 global warming swindle….👍

when the biggest economy in the world rejects green and mines it will send shockwaves around the world……europe,uk and other feather duster green policy makers can’t peddle against this flow and survive……there will be years of this switch to fossil fuels and when ordinary people realise it equals cheaper energy they will reject this renewable ****e

“Today's high has a long way to go to catch up!”…..we were at 1.4p in March…..we have done 8p+ a few times over the last few weeks that’s a 6x bagger in 6 months with no real market exposure of news!!…….a 6x bagger from Fridays close is 42p??……more than doable,add in the new energy policy telling the next govt to extract coal by the end of the year and lift off…..sights should be set higher??….but higher can scalp the traders so this is why it’s played down….fook that…..I’m after the big bucks not nut shells

For anyone looking in wondering what this project is,apologies to regular posters…….

In early 2025 a seminar and discussion was organised by the Hydrocarbon Unit of the Power and Energy Ministry, in attendance was the Power and Energy Advisor along with numerous Academics and Mining Experts. Information about the proposal to mine Phulbari from Asia Energy was presented. The overall consensus was that the way forward was to recommend to the next elected government that the project, utilising open pit mining, should go ahead. The Energy Advisor stressed that 'mining of our resources is essential for relieving stress on fuel imports ', he is further reported to have stated that $15bn in funding was on offer from a 'mining company' to facilitate the project. The project will be part of the Chinese Belt and Road initiative.

Power China, having signed a MOU to develop the mine, including removal of the overburden, is also working with the government on implementing the nearby Teesta River reclamation project, it has been speculated that overburden from Phulbari would be utilised in that process. In July 2025 the Interim Government notified the Chinese authorities of their intention to go ahead with the project utilising the $550 million in funding that is on offer. China has stated it will expand rail projects in Bangladesh ready for the project, doing so could also facilitate the transportation of Phulbari coal to existing coal power plants, as with the Phulbari project, discussions are ongoing between stakeholders, partners, the major election contesting political parties and the Interim Government

Difference between old Zak and our expectations is Zak is purely technical on the chart to date and not a mention of elections,energy policy,new government pro domestic resources,belt&road,China…..I could go on,and that is where most of the market is at the moment playing the technical side…….one Gcm rns to the positive and it’s the stratosphere…..

Interesting how mr one share 6p will play it this week……they no longer need to keep the market cap above £20mln but they still need the stock……I suspect anyone trading out feeling dizzy after Fridays rise will sell straight into mr one shares hands?
