Yunus is in the same position with the Chinese as Hasina was……they knew it was all over for her so they tolerated her till she was expelled……Yunus is losing his status every week that goes by,he’s not fit to administer the Teesta project…..one minute he’s swinging with Americans,the next he’s swinging with the EU……all China has to do is bog Teesta down in technicals till the new year and the interim govt will be clearing their desks and good riddance……..I think Fouzel has done his best under the circumstances and if he completes the energy policy as promised the rest should fall into plan….👍

Overthinking 😂…….bara is going to officially run out of conventionally mined coal but there is probably 90% of Bara reserves still available to a future open pit method of extraction!!……bara valuation via conventional deep pit mining not worth the paperwork………open pit…think of a number,that would top up the exchequer and the Chinese and Americans would be first in the queue

This was one of my concerns going forward…..would the bungs and backhanders continue to stifle progress to domestic resources extraction,for the US to weigh in on this is a positive and there could even be some competitiveness in the mining sector……

Adani racking up the invoices again with late payment fees etc for the Godda power plant……I think this plant is one of the power lifelines for northern Bangladesh and I don’t think the Chinese will want to rely on anything supplying power run by India ,so it’s screaming for the development of the Phulbari energy park for reliability in energy infrastructure for the Teesta project and it would hack into and slash these Adani dues over time….it’s reputed $700-900 mln is owed to Adani to put that in perspective it’s about the same as what the Bangladesh govt wants to borrow to develop Teesta……..frightening debt trap

6p is the £20mln marker for a micro fund to be loading up…..they have strict rules to adhere too and losing a few grand in fee’s with all these 1 trades will be chicken feed if they are early birds to the phulbari party……..I said weeks ago,if Sven Lorenz picked the progress up on his radar there will be others so more than possible it’s institutional interest 👊

Power China, having signed a MOU to develop the mine, including removal of the overburden, is also working with the government on implementing the nearby Teesta River reclamation project, it has been speculated that overburden from Phulbari would be utilised in that process. In July 2025 the Interim Government notified the Chinese authorities of their intention to go ahead with the project utilising the $550 million in funding that is on offer. China has stated it will expand rail projects in Bangladesh ready for the project, doing so could also facilitate the transportation of Phulbari coal to existing coal power plants, as with the Phulbari project, discussions are ongoing between stakeholders, partners, the major election contesting political parties and the Interim Government

So here’s my penneth for what it’s worth….I said a while back micro funds could potentially look at gcm when it gets to £20mln mkt cap….that seems a basic requirement of them showing interest in a stock,and why not Gcm as the story unfolding is quiet the thing?…..so to get a chunk of this company if I was managing a micro fund I would have put feelers out to see if there was going to be any raise/funding in the near future as liquidity here is a bit tight…..now after some excellent calcs done by searcher it looks like a raise might not be needed till q1 next year so mr micro fund is a bit stuck till then when the stock should be much higher?…or they bite the bullet and try accumulating some stock without upsetting the equilibrium,this is a bizarre set of events and imho the 1 trader could in theory be keeping the stock just above the £20mln market cap so mr micro fund is meeting the fund rules of buying above £20mln but also 1 trader is stopping the stock running away??….it fits the bill and I’m more than happy for them to take these sells all day long as they should be going into safer hands!

It’s surprising searcher other outlets have covered exactly the same meeting and failed to mention the Ambassador saying coal=reduced imports……..I don’t think we get the full story with some of this mainstream media!!

The country’s power sector has long been grappling with a gas crisis, as domestic reserves are rapidly depleting. Energy experts argue that the government has neglected exploration, despite BAPEX possessing adequate equipment, including rigs.

To meet the demand of power plants, the government is increasingly importing LNG from the spot market and purchasing electricity from India, as local gas supplies dwindle. Minimal exploration in recent years has meant that little gas has been added to the national grid.

Currently, Bangladesh generates, on average, 5,500 MW from gas, 1,500 MW from fuel oil, 4,400 MW from coal and imports 2,000 MW from India and 38 MW from Nepal. Coal shortages are preventing mega-projects from operating at full capacity, forcing the government to frequently increase electricity purchases from the private sector.

Although the country’s generation capacity stands at 30,000 MW, only around 15,000 MW is currently operational due to energy shortages. Bangladesh possesses 29 gas fields and substantial offshore gas potential, underscoring the importance of efficient exploration and utilisation of domestic resources.

Great summary of where we are at with the project and my own expectations……..hope mr one trade joins the party again today,imho whoever has organised that sort of behaviour is not doing it for a laugh,they are designed to sound out the system and manipulate the book…it is market abuse,but for what it remains to be seen…….

I tried a dummy sell first thing this morning and was offered 5.85 for 600k……as soon as those 1 trades started that offer shut down to 200k……..so imho they are part of the smoke or the mirror to tilt trading

Would be good to get some detail on how they plan to use the country’s mineral resources without mentioning phulbari and upsetting tree licking voters…….
