Barry quite true yes, and given their generally cautious conservative approach they must be confident of substantial returns on this investment in staff. That's my reading of it anyway.

Pretty big expansion I would suggest given the current size of the company. It means they are expecting a substantial increase in workload to include their expanding sales and product range with Visitect CD4 being the jewel in the crown "no comparable product on the market"

We are really very close to commercialisation of two crucial new products which should transform revenues and profit here. As rivaldo points out a price target of 40-50p within 12 months is eminently achievable.

Yes I fail to see why it was so necessary to have such a low price for the placing. We had been in the mid twenties for a sustained period. Surely it was possible to justify a price at min low twenties. So yes, very frustrating. I'd e pelted a placing as it was clear they were running low on cash but I never expected one that wipe out the bulk of my profit!

Totally concur with your strategy and thinking here. There is a considerable opportunity at this price level with a number of short and medium term catalysts

panda - I have to say spot on pal. It was indeed at least 18 maths ago they were supposedly close to profitability. The truth is that there is massive competition out there and FLX are NOT winning the business. I remember at least ONE previous placing where they raised substantial sums specifically for marketing and bolstering sales team. Where are the fruits of this investment to be seen? Tit bits of business and no more. Annoying because there should bevan opportunity here but not enough evidence of delivery for me and the SP is telling you this.

Difficult to see the Tanzanian govt backtracking on their tax plans. Once again highlights the inherent risk of investing in Africa. Relieved I offloaded some while back when I decided to move out of goldies for a while. Sadly when I go back in Shanta will not be near the top of the list.

barry I completely sympathise and agree with your sentiments. The recent substantial SP fall has been quite disastrous really. I fail to understand why, when we were sitting on 26p we end up with a placong price of 18p. Why??? That said I don't believe it's the right time to run out of patience. Best to avoid the classic investor trap of selling low (and buying high). I expect now the SP has gone to the placing price there should be support but we may well stick around this level for a while. Very annoying though

We can now buy stock on the open market at little more than placing price. Just a few short weeks ago the SP was 50% higher. The pressure is on now to deliver on the accelerated growth strategy - as others have pointed out quite rightly. We could do with having a more regular news flow and not having to go months on end wondering what's going on. I am reassured by the very substantial additional investment made by Richard Sneller and L&G as well as the BOD themselves. Come on Omega, in a years time I expect the SP to be 30p+ no question.

Concur with most of the less positive observations. That said, £4m+ investment by this VC firm is a large slug of cash to grow the VS business so can be positive ultimately for LEG but will require (more) patience. Still, who knows, more contracts could start to land in 2nd half of year. Overall it is net positive imo notwithstanding slightly disappointing valuation of VS (as has been said) Never really considered RTO likely

Petrel is now a great play on several fronts. Possible successful outcome to Ghana Licence negotiations - would seriously move SP northwards Upcoming 3D seismic from Woodside - ditto above if promising And not least PVR massive drill now started in the South Porcupine where PET have a number of interests
