Hi mate how are you? Remember you well when we both held KGLD (as it was then!). Interested in your view of OPTI. I see your point in broad terms re the valuation. EV/Sales ratio is currently v high! So it does 'look' expensive in historical terms. BUT you know as well as I do that the market doesn't always work that way. £50m MC for a company entering a mass commercialisation phase of development is not expensive. There is a arrange of products in different sectors with different applications. I don't think giving away half the profit is the way to view it. Or at least there is a much more positive slant - they don't have to distribute or do the marketing. They just provide the raw material and Sacco, Tata etc do the rest. If, as you suggested, they 'needed' £5-6m profit and generated it I can tell you the MC would be a great deal more than £50m. Probably be multiples of that since the stock would get a premium growth rating by the market. Your £5m profit (at today's MC) would put it on a ludicrously cheap PE of 10 or less All this said I do respect your view and it's important we have posters presenting the bear case. Are you holding a short position?

I reckon Steven Myers has still been offloading and this is probably the primary cause for the recent SP malaise. At some point he will finish and the market will balance. Hopefully this will coincide with the launch of Midgard. This is, sadly, no secret so not sure how much of an impact it will have when officially announced. One can hope.

Interesting how the two pieces of news dovetail ;) Let's hope other African countries follow Zambias lead.

thekenner - one problem is all the other investments don't amount to very much and would, in all likelihood, not be easy to flog. The one core investment of value is VS and its the only reason that anyone (with any degree of sanity) is here. I don't think there will be an RTO. Why? Because its clear the company (I mean VS) don't want to go down that route. They want to IPO on the NASDAQ. Which, although more costly, is clearly a better idea.

Yep could be. One or two nibbling today. With each day we move closer to hopefully transformational news on more than one front. You hear that statement on a lot of boards but here there is real substance behind it combined with the protection of a long established solid profitable business.

Taken a small position @ 5.85p. Looking for short term SP target of 7-8p. I think this has been knocked by summer hols snoozefest and also ECSC profit warning. Expecting this to awaken in next two weeks.

Question: were we expecting such tiny revenues for this period? I was a little surprised to see them lower than the equivalent period last year.

Unsurprisingly no news comes out.... Meanwhile someone taking a bit of money off the table today but bid is holding up very well actually Hopefully just a pause before next move up

I suppose my question ATM is how much the SP is supported by TW's incessant rampy articles? Given his following it's possible but unlikely as he continually hypes up FLX with no response.

Kings - yes it could of course still drop further. But my guess is that traders are just waiting for the bounce going purely from the chart. A company statement is def due re the SP fall. That will also have a bearing on where the SP goes short term. IF no more bad news then big bounce but if confirmed more bad news then not so good....

LookIng at the chart this is technically massively oversold and due a bounce.

poolie - no just took a small position a little while ago @ 118p. See how it goes. I'm 'hoping' the company will shortly issue a reassuring statement to the market. The SP fall certainly warrants it.

Finncap have forecast EPS of 2.1p for FY2018 putting this on a prospective PE ratio of around 10 which would be ludicrously cheap for a higher growth stock. A SP of 40-50p would not be unrealistic if this is achieved.

poolie - yes indeed more than likely you are correct. Def liquidity issue here as well though since there are only just over 9m shares in issue. So SP movements can be very exaggerated. It's steel balls time for me. Hold your nose....
