A conclusion to the litigation with Samsung could be up to 5 years away, so I am rather hoping that in the meantime, Merck ploughs ahead without regard for the outcome.

Yes Thurgarton - agree with all of that, although VLS has at least allowed PI some scraps, when the City boys keep it all for themselves. I suspect it was done only to alleviate criticism for the Government.

Knowing we shall receive very few shares at 3.01 per 100, I bought more at 6.04 on Friday. If we believe in the company and the offering, that’s the only way for PI to minimise the dilution.

As you infer, a purchase by Shell and or IAG at some point has to be a very possibility. I cannot see them being interested only in Immingham and suspect they will want to own the worldwide offering eventually.

Normally a cash raise and resulting dilution of this order would rank as a disaster but for me it is the interest shown by Shell, IAG and the Government that makes the difference. VLS needs to succeed for the Government to deliver its carbon targets , and mainly for that reason, I think this will be one of a small number of shares that rebounds quickly from the discounted offers. Then again, we have yet to see what the prospective investors agree to but should hear soon.

For me, the burning question is how much will IAG and Shell part with for their two thirds share in Altalto? The answer will help inform us as to the level of additional funding required over the next 5 years. Immingham will not be funded from the sale of Reactors/cata!ysts + grants alone. The larger the investment, the greater the SP uplift and ability to raise the balance required.

Further to BBD's article, has Mr Lee (Samsung heir apparent) avoided indictment, per the Korean Times article below? Apparently, Samsung has successfully appealed to a Public Panel, which the judiciary is not bound to follow yet, to date, always has.

Whilst the system works to its advantage, Samsung will exhaust all options it offers.

Any views on what the value of the IAG and Shell investment should be, in order to buy their way in?
No doubt that is under discussion now but it not simply a case of matching the cash VLS now has. They need to quantify an amount based on the value of the entire operation, know how and IP, as well as the value of grants which should be coming the way of VLS. It should be quite a large number.

We can't accuse you of being too attached to NANO BtB, can we :) I suspect a lot of us feel the same way too, for one illogical reason or another. I have the sense that our time is soon.

I agree fundamental. Those offloading now at just 6p in hope of buying back at 5p and/or exercising their open offer (+ additional entitlement) may find that:

The Open offer of 3.1 for every 100 you own buys fewer shares than wanted.
The additional entitlement is dramatically back to nil or close to it (very likely in my view).
BA and Shell both exercise their option making shares at 5p unattainable.

If you think these shares will turn to good value, my suggestion is to have yours now even at what looks like a premium price.

Suppose that depends upon what the contract contains Nanonano. ME has set an expectation that it will be better than current but as usual it is best to wait until we know what the detail is.

Friday is typically when NANO releases RNS but we have until Monday before the Merck contract expires. I feel sure ME would choose to update the market before expiry but as you say SL, there is frequently an element of chicken played with timescales to ensure the best commercial deal is struck, so that may not be possible. Unfortunately, posters and PI do not have any say on timetables.

Hi donotpanic. Very interesting article but it states " Developers behind the green jet fuel refinery proposed for the South Humber Bank have been awarded £500,000 of government funding." That suggests government funding was agreed some time before the 12/06. Potentially, the recent raise fulfils the VLS obligations for funding and we now await only the Shell and BA obligations before Immingham is fully funded. Alternatively the article is ahead of itself? How are you reading this?

The Directors have not bought large stakes but I am going to guess that a LTIP (long term incentive plan) will be announced in a few weeks which allocates them a much larger chunk of ‘free’ shares. There does need to be incentive for the Board, so it is a necessary evil I am afraid.

I would hazard a guess that Roman provided funds for the open offer and is also collecting more discounted shares today.

There will also be news on the option to purchase from BA And She’ll before the end of this month. Whilst no one likes this type of haircut (and detests selected city boys lining their pockets) VLS has played a blinder in terms of raising cash so far. Look back just a few weeks a cash raise would have been impossible. Much more money is required to complete Immingham but VLS is now a going concern again.

It will be interesting to see where this settles in a day or two. I have a feeling we may see a big increase over the 5 or 7p levels.

As you say Nige just a waiting game and not too much to discuss. News of a settlement is a possibility but if we don't receive it, then detail of a new Merck agreement or new orders would be very welcome. It is easy to see how a watershed moment could arrive from any number of sources out of the blue, although if Samsung were minded to settle, I imagine they will leave it until late August.

Like you, I am overweight in NANO, although not quite to BotBot's level, or perhaps your own. We do need some good news though, so good luck to all holders who have held their nerve.

Not a nice feeling Magicalali I know but at least you may get the same chance to buy some yourself at between 5p and 7p. Normally, that is not an option you will see on the table at all. If there is news of Shell and BA are putting a large amount into Altalto it may even look quite sweet after a short while.
