It has been clear that Immingham alone would cost around £500m (think now estimated at £600m). However, Shell and IAG were buying into the Altalto subsidiary, which appears to be the UK operation, i.e. Immingham. I could be wrong of course but my expectation is that these partners will meet at least two thirds of the costs, and that feels like good value as VLS/ Altalto should still own all or part of the IP and be able to transfer that to other sites worldwide. Yes further dilution is likely later on but perhaps not as much as some think.

Above assumes Shell and IAG have exercised their options, of which we have heard nothing but I would imagine that an RNS might be required had they not?

And remember the government is backing this so many more reasons why it should not fail.

Agree Morbox /BtB. Whilst it has been impossible to value this company or predict its path, it could turn out to be the one many regret missing (or not).

Meantime the SP volatility earlier today and last Thursday has me stumped. Just a guess but is it just possible HM gov has told Samsung it will have a significantly better chance of winning the potential 5G contract, if the dispute with NANO were resolved?

Did they not pay £1m (by 30 June) for the option to purchase a total of two thirds of Altalto?

In my view Steve124, because the Institutions are only happy when they have it all. In this case, conceding 3.1% was likely a sop so that the government could align itself to the arrangement and claim shares at 5p had been made available to the public. In most placings all the shares go to one party and everyone needs to take their No1 haircut, so perhaps we should be pleased with the scraps? Having said that I still feel these will go to 15p at some point - need to know what Shell and IAG plans are and the timing.

If you believe this share should be worth more and that MM are playing games, the only way to thwart it is for all PI to hold their shares and let them ride. Reduced liquidity would push the price up if the demand exists but unfortunately, the above is not going to happen because instinct calls for a quick profit and some exit because they are worried about the next drop. That is what the market exploits and is why I shall sit tight at least until we know what funds, if any, Shell and IAG are putting in.

A 20% rise might not be quite enough to force a 'no known reason' RNS unless we see further significant gains? The SP remains positive, which is a surprise in itself without news. I have no basis in fact for saying so but think news of some sort will follow today or next week. Meantime, to avoid upset from my other half, I am going to put excitement to one side and get on with my day.

SP up 2.87 at moment so curious indeed. I feel sure something is going on.

Yes in the absence of an RNS it could go anywhere but NANO investors are a hardy bunch and all very familiar with uncertainty.

Yes SL but most of us will be surprised there is no news yet. Could be NANO is not ready to issue and the rise is down to a leak or false alarm? Best we grab a cup of tea like T and see what opening brings :)

NANO intimated that was in final discussion with one firm several months ago Gtx1 and also that several other firms wanted the case. It has not announced completion of that agreement and some, including me, believe that is because there is no point in having an agreement until Court action becomes inevitable. Otherwise an early settlement means paying the funder around 50% of the settlement for doing virtually nothing. It probably has agreed terms of funding though, to take effect when the case commences.

Court granted a three month extension to receive Samsung's defence, which probably signals it would prefer a settlement by agreement, as it has a backlog of cases to hear and will not want this one heard, if it can be avoided.

Hope so courtier, and also that in time we shall receive a letter from Her Majesty the Queen too.

That's right T - we have seen smaller increases a day or two before an RNS e.g. when Merck provided notice of termination. We have also seen large increases on news, such as the Samsung lawsuit you refer to, but I do not recollect a rise of >20% without news, so tomorrow provides expectation of an RNS.

Wonder if a Deutsche Bank Analyst has slipped up again?
