Hi Nige. We shall be guessing until the RNS drops. We have seen the SP go up prior to an RNS before but not this much so it does feel like something good this way comes. An out of hours RNS is not likely now but if a far east partner were involved that is still a possibility. We have all done pretty well today and really looking forward to the 'reveal' tomorrow ! SL's £1big would be especially welcome.

I see the closing price was pushed down to 18.55 in a price monitoring extension. Hmm... let's see what tomorrow morning brings.

Certainly feels a little different this time and I cannot recollect an increase of this order without hard news.

When the action starts at lunchtime (as it did today) it is usually a very good thing and it also pushed up further as we drew close to the bell.

Fingers crossed for us all. I am expecting a good news RNS tomorrow, or possibly even one out of hours?

This is an unexpected lunchtime lift. More NANO surprises. Not sure what gives rise to it but let us hope this Heralds the start of better times.

Just guessing but possibilities include that :
1.Judge Gilstrap has warned the Samsung legal team that Samsung’s bad behaviour has not gone unnoticed, so waste his time at their peril.
2. Merck or STM has news of more orders.
3. The Apple contract is back on.
4. All of the above (yes please).

Samsung is effectively admitting that it stole Image Processing Technologies IP (my take) and extending its 'form' in that skillset It may signal Samsung has found that Ethics policy (assumed lost) and might even be willing to settle with NANO after all? NANO's litigation is probably likely to result in larger damages though, so I am not going to count on that yet.

On another subject, I believe that Boris has announced a new fund to assist high tech and high risk ventures - perhaps we can benefit from that too?

Rowley, if you exercise your 'Basic entitlement' rights (3.01 per 100 held) the new shares should be added to your existing holding and your average will be reduced. It is a no brainer to exercise that option given the price now (assuming it stays here or above!). The same goes for any 'Excess entitlement' you request, although I suspect those will be scaled right back and there will be very few on offer.

Quite sure that IAG and Shell will not restrict their investment to Altalto alone and will have purchased VLS shares over the last week also. If they could buy enough of the parent company there would be no need to invest in Altalto but then again, we have not yet seen any TR1 disclosure to suggest they have crossed a thresholds. Ultimately, it makes sense that VLS forms part of Shell's new greener strategy and that it owns and controls it.

I love ideas that reduce the number of items, wires and chargers we need. Doing away with earphones sounds appealing to me, if the glasses provide quality sound and do not require charging every couple of hours. BigBang - what do you think of yours? Do you still use them, or have you consigned to the back of a drawer?

I suspect you are correct Static - there probably will be quite a few sellers on 16 July but it is most likely they will be PI and their shares will be quickly and cheaply taken up by the institutions.

I shall be holding on to all of mine and form a view if/when Shell and IAG cough up for their share of Altalto. I now feel, as others do, that such news will not arrive until after the issue of all shares.

That LO has remained is confidence in itself and LO is unlikely to buy more of what it does not want or need, so it's a thumbs up from me.

Excellent news that VDTK will shortly be cash positive. So many potential markets for light and flexible solar Panels.

I do wonder if, in the longer term, it is considering development of solar roof tiles for housing, to rival the delayed Tesla solution. It seems to me that will be the final answer for domestic solar, in new build at least.

Solar panels for refrigerated trailers is exactly the type of forward thinking needed to make an impact and reduce greenhouse gases. If that’s a success, there should be no reason the same thinking cannot be extended, for example to trains. Should allow operators to treat travellers to air conditioning during the summer rather than heaters.

Amerloque. I am really hoping we do receive a positive Merck announcement this week, in which case we would all be delighted and have increased confidence in both management and the future. The Merck contract expires tomorrow, and as it was ME who volunteered we should "watch this space", an update of any sort would be preferable to silence.

TLW. For some reason NigWit always seemed to interpret constructive criticism of the BoD as if it were a personal insult . Never understood why but probably best we don’t encourage him to comment here, if indeed he is able to.

Yes Nanonano that’s always been clear as mud. All we have is Mike’s comment that Merck has been the most active partner and to “watch this space”. I did wonder if it was possible that orders would be received as a result of the Chinese Cadmium ban taking effect? A delay on Merck news cannot be positive.

I also see the spread is over 7% this morning and wonder what justifies that?
