Don't get me wrong, the results were disappointing, but we cannot control outside factors such as exchange rate, commodity prices etc so the only thing that gave me concern was the significant rise in admin expenses. For me the key play is expanding the retail network, as that is where the margin can be managed, together with supply/demand.

Very much agree with this Rev, and Zimbabwe is a big potential prize when Mugabe goes. I also have a feeling that they might have done some tidying up on the accounts to get rid of all the bad news in this half, where they knew it was going to disappoint. Of course, there are no guarantees with this, but I prefer to focus on the fundamentals of the company, rather than any impact from outside factors

I thought you said you were out JL? Keep the faith fella, this is a highly volatile market so you have to take the rough with the smooth. Take out all the macroeconomic environment and volatile commodity price and focus on the core structures the business is putting in place. Some excellent progress being made on the retail side, with like for like sales in ZAMs own stores increasing 21%! The focus on Mpongwe looks like a good play too. Admin expenses for me are the only main concern from the numbers

When i signed up Gixer, it listed a number of brokers, only a couple of who were free. Halifax who i use was £20 apparently............i could of course keep them with Primary Bid but wouldn't be particularly keen to

Thanks gixer, i wasn't aware of the requirement or had ever heard of PrimaryBid before - can anyone give me the lowdown on them? I have now registered.........they charge me £20 for transferring any shares back to my broker though! I similarly would think we'd get another RNS announcement about whether they will proceed down this route or not. Given the current SP, and my average of 0.93, i see it as a good opportunity to average down a bit

Wishey, it's all about a long term game with these type of companies though, you don't expect them to be making profit now, just that they have the potential for big $ in future. Everything is indicating that, so i expected a bounce to at least £1.

Absolutely. My average is £3.20 here anyway, I remember the days when it was over £4 so holding out for some time yet now. Prospects certainly look better after rationalisation. With further debt reduction, the group can then hopefully return to a better dividend which will see the SP rise further. Certainly the weak pound will help on the currency gains. All looking good

We're not in a mess at all. IPO will go from strength to strength, EU or no EU. The world is a global marketplace these days and the EU may collapse in existence when Merkel gets the boot

Thanks Immersion, always useful to get other perspectives. Time will tell I suppose, but interesting to hear about the other alternatives out there that I was not really aware of.
