I'm undecided at the moment, clearly communication continues to be an issue and we only seem to get something when AFC can see shareholder disdain on here, he'll either be a big failure or a superhero, there isn't really much space in the middle. They've got enough funding to last long enough to get sales so as long as he doesn't depart it's all on his shoulders to deliver.

don't forget AFC raised 2m before the virus at 20p so the big investors don't always get it right, they don't have a crystal ball

One of the great things about the UK is that we rise to a challenge and find ways to get through adversity, I made no comment about the share price only that business goes on, some of you may be happy to just sit at home worrying watching homes under the hammer but myself and my colleagues are using the quiet time to make contact with customers and follow up on website enquiries and i'm sure AFC's competitors will be doing the same, yes this is serious but the economy still has to function or they'll be nothing left to come back to so sorry but I don't agree with give them 2-3 weeks off.

Once lockdown is lifted, people start travelling again and it starts all over again

The world moves at an ever increasing speed as communication, internet speeds ever increasing and although the coronavirus may be around for months or years the media will soon run out of attention grabbing headlines and will move on to something else, look how quickly the flood victims were forgotten about as soon as they latched on to coronavirus

With hindsight thank goodness they had the 2 x 1m investments otherwise they would now be eating into the £4m drawdown facility, howl ong that will last them is anyones guess, cash burn now £350k per month ? so autumn time could be fund raise time again, will be difficult with everyone taking their money out of the stock market.

One thing in AFC's favour at the moment is that there is no loss of revenue !

When were you expecting first orders ?
Some were saying if no orders by February I’d start to be worried, others are saying PATIENCE, I’m saying and continue to say, the EV charger was first unveiled over a year ago as the worlds first hydrogen powered EV charger, it’s now 3 months since release 2, and still not a word from AFC other than ‘lots of interest’. In the current climate with investors pulling out of high risk investments, ie pie in the sky companies with no income AFC. have next to no chance of support in the foreseeable future unless they release NEWS of ORDERS !

One small error in Haggis' comment, planes are only full at take off, on landing they're almost empty so they would use a significant amount more energy for the flight and therefore cost a lot more

using solar power and batteries, proven technology that everyone understands, no wonder AFC are finding sales difficult.

Yes but at the moment the government dont tax drivers to charge their cars while heavily taxing petrol and diesel, it will come and probably not too far away, they’ve already started taxing the lower emission cars that were previously exempt.

AFC Energy (AIM: AFC), the leading alkaline fuel cell power company, today confirms plans to manufacture and showcase its latest zero emission, OFF GRID, multi-vehicle Electric Vehicle ("EV") charging system in the fourth quarter of 2019.

If you don’t believe me check the RNS yourself. If they are now targeting on grid then that’s another change of direction. AFC paid consultants to find a market for their technology, the consultants found a market for off grid charging.

Rooky, in your example I'd say if the grid capacity is in place for Lidl chances are the Aldi that's 500m away could also install EV chargers on the grid, might need to install a bigger cable to their premises, probably cheaper than buying an AFC charger. Lidl gain a few EV customers from Aldi but if Aldi installed the AFC unit they'd lose a few parking spaces.

Chippy, i agree with a change in government agenda/tax incentives AFC's business could be transformed over night, at present i think the share price is being supported simply due to the fact we are a part of the hydrogen economy, very similar to a bioplastics company i invested in for anyone that knows Biome Technologies, spent years getting grants and continuous fund raises, years of promises of new products in the pipeline, customers lined up but never appeared, they still just about keep going but the massive growth never happened. They did a 10/1 share consolidation because their share price became too embarrassing.
AFC should have known full well the price the industrials were paying for electricity, this is one of the issues i struggle with that are they really that naive that they go into a market sector without knowing the basics ?
