So they've been able to complete a fuel cell power plant, snatched from under AFC's nose, we have been talking about doing this for years and still waiting on that one enquiry from Southern Oil, priceless.

Sharesport it's an assumption based on the fact that AFC have to release an RNS when they have received the order and up front payment as it is price sensitive. If AFC have received the order and not told us then they are the ones misleading, it's that simple.

Sharesport, I would expect to see an RNS confirming we have a PO as a down payment paid would be price sensitive, we haven't had confirmation of this yet, if we have please show me where.
I'm sure AFC have commenced production of standard items but I wouldn't start work on any custom items for Extreme E that couldn't be used elsewhere until I had the PO.

DJ79, it's in the Extreme E RNS. We wouldn't normally start work until we see sight of the PO in case it never materializes (dependant on how the contract is worded), as a down payment is payable on order this suggests to me that AFC won't start spending money on this system until they get the PO either.

And because there is no need for a fundraise we get silence as a result....

Hopefully we will get some news on the order from Extreme E soon & subsequent first payment, this should give a boost to the shareprice -

ok, fair point Southerhay, I would be nice to hear of talks announcing service partners in that case but I guess too early stage for that right now.

Athansius, according to the paper I found it's cheaper to store energy as hydrogen than in batteries (hence why we are using this system for Extreme E) so in theory it should have a place, whether AFC can actually sell the solution is another matter. IMO trying to sell a better but more complicated technology with more things to go wrong and with very few people that can repair it in the event of failure will always be a challenge. If my solar panels fail I can call an electrician (well i could fault find myself), if an AFC fuel cell combined with battery, electrolyser, solar panels goes wrong who do you get to fix it ?

TM, but how I hear everyone ask at a time during an unprecedented pandemic and when councils take months to plan these things is this possible ? Kind of dismisses everyone's counter arguments why AFC don't have any sales.

ok so I found this paper which explains why, would have been nice to have heard this from AFC though -

Efficiency losses do mean that renewable electricity should be used as electricity where possible,” Scamman says. “However it’s cheaper to store bulk hydrogen than electricity – particularly for seasonal storage – and hydrogen may be required to decarbonise some sectors including heavy-duty transport and industry where electricity is less suitable. History has shown that renewable deployment can occur faster than some expect. Likewise for the development of international markets.”

Sprog, not sure how you can say batteries are not stable when the very cars we are charging use them.
I am only referring to the Extreme E setup, not the AFC EV charger in general as I am aware of the advantages.
Your point 3 maybe the reason, if storing the energy in hydrogen rather than batteries then yes it may be cheaper, except we have to buy an electrolyser at what cost ? how does this compare with the cost of buying a battery ?
Sustainability cannot be used as an argument since the whole setup already includes a battery so you'd be shooting yourself in the foot with that argument.

Thanks Sprog & Chippy, although we have both in this system, hydrogen & battery. I'm sill not convinced storing the energy as hydrogen can be the only benefit as opposed to have a battery farm since the size of the battery to fully charge one car will be roughly the size of, well, one car battery ! It would be nice if AFC, as other companies manage to do, and share the benefits clearly what this system achieves, what's it's USP is compared to current products on the market, let's face it, if none of us really know who have been following AFC for years, what hope does a potential customer visiting the AFC website have of understanding ?

Maybe it will not impact on AFC, but taking a look at their Linked In page what a difference between them and AFC, in one year, exhibiting at FC Expo, contracts signed, orders, deliveries in containers similar to what AFC will hoped eventually be doing, webinars, lease/purchase options all clearly explained, none of the secret squirrel nonsense.

BB, I appreciate that but if they are producing 5 nines hydrogen economically AFC could lose one of their advantages
