Amazing to keep seeing the attacks on those who are becoming increasingly frustrated with lack of comms/sales by the rose tinted brigade. Some here will the remember the ‘happy autumn’ RNS, was that 2 years ago now ? Glide path to sales, accelerating to sales, aggressively pursuing sales, on the cusp, right products at the right time at the right price, and now buoyant, and still nothing happening this year. Comments from the rose tinted brigade, sales take time, we’re in the middle of an unprecedented pandemic, it’s holiday season, can’t wait to see what excuse they come up with next - no one buys in the lead up to Christmas ?

I’m as frustrated as the next person with lack of updates but I do take solace that a £32 million fundraiser in 3 hours and 2 very good deals, one of which could lead to massive opportunities in the construction world and the publicity gained as a result of Extreme E are not to be underestimated.
The fundraiser didn't happen in 3 hours, no-one could raise 31.6m in 3 hours, you seriously think they phoned around to get people interested in 3 hours ?
In one of the RNS's it mentioned TUVA were tasked with finding investors, that was in March I think so they had a few months to get the fundraiser sorted. It was only the small additional raise that was oversubscribed in 3 hours.

Would have been nice if it had said we anticipate receiving orders in the 2nd half of the year, rather than just large strides forward whatever that means !

I warned everyone this would happen Garonne. I’m not expecting any significant news now until January and then it’ll probably be another new product announcement and news of EV and diesel genset will quietly evaporate

BB, my question is if hydrogen becomes commonplace would anyone bother using ammonia and then having to have a cracker, if the cost of transporting hydrogen falls the benefit of using ammonia is reduced.

While its great to hear about all of the hydrogen infrastructure being built how does this help AFC gain an advantage over the competition ? I would have thought we would lose our competitive edge being our USP is being able to use green hydrogen from Ammonia which helps reduce costs of transport. If hydrogen becomes commonplace that’s an advantage lost surely ?

No but I have just completed phase one of a new wind turbine monitoring system, we talked to our interested party, we both decided what it was they needed, we got an order from them, we designed and built it to the spec agreed, did a factory acceptance test and shipped them. AFC have put their finger in the air and guessed what might be needed built something, it was too small, and they can't get orders for the larger system because customers wanted to physically see one. Surely even you must realise this is beyond a joke now.

Musc, if they had been providing updates while working on the ev charger they could have had that feedback much earlier in the process and built a system customers actually wanted. I feel it comes down to the BODs arrogance that they know what they are doing and are not prepared to listen, not good for shareholders and not good for customers either.

If anyone else follows Extreme E on Twitter you’ll see a masterclass in how to build a brand, regular tweets featuring racing teams, partners etc gearing up for launch in January, they’re not working silently behind closed doors leaving everyone to guess what might be happening. AFC’s approach ? Working behind the scene for months and then unveil a new system and wonder why there is zero interest.

I hardly think having more of AB's spiel benefits anyone ! I would say the more info they have the less likely they would be to invest ! AFC need to prove me wrong and SOON ! This has gone on far too long.

Risky, I think too many people put too much emphasis on the £31.6m raised, yes it's a lot of money to most people, but not to a billionaire or a global company. Sprog mentioned he was down £60k at one point, to me that is a lot of money to be down so it's all relative, just because it's a relatively large investment doesn't necessarily mean they know more than us or that their investment is a wise one, only time will tell on that front. Lets face it there aren't that many safe places to put your money right now so people either look to safe havens (cash or gold) or you go for emerging technology such as hydrogen/pharma etc, we could just be lucky that we are part of the hydrogen economy (well ammonia anyway, not cost effective on hydrogen).

Would be interesting to know how the salesmen are calculating margins on quotes when they probably have no idea what the levelised cost of energy will be.

What's odd is that if any one of those targets is not met then any progress is meaningless since all targets need to be met to have any value.

Since the De Nora RNS extension of the JDA -

Following recent successful electrode performance testing with prolonged longevity, De Nora has agreed to extend its JDA with AFC Energy underlying its commitment to the electrode development for AFC Energy's fuel cell with the parties agreeing (i) specific cost and operational targets, (ii) confirmation of a scaled up 4-year electrode life (building on recent results) and (iii) a mass electrode manufacturing capability, which together will significantly reduce the levelised cost of energy for AFC Energy's fuel cell systems.
· Majority of targets scheduled to be met within the first twelve (12) months of the agreement.

Seeing as we’ve had no update on progress in all this time one has to assume all is on track so we have some excellent news to look forward too very soon IMO.

Having just read an article on Chevron renewable diesel made from plants, is this the most obvious solution to the ban on diesel ?

Don’t you think over those 10 months they could have listened to what customers wanted so that by the time of the launch they had a product customers wanted to buy rather than give a lame excuse that they want the larger model ?

The demonstration of the CH2ARGE unit took place at Dunsfold Aerodrome, home to the BBC Top Gear test track, and saw a BMW i8 as the first ever car to be recharged with power generated by a hydrogen fuel cell. The innovation takes place after 10 years of fuel cell research development at the AFC Energy laboratories.

Having now demonstrated proof-of-concept of the CH2ARGETM prototype, AFC Energy is preparing for the commercialisation of fuel cell-based EV Charge solutions to meet the growing demand for environmentally friendly power in the EV market. Traditional charging causes pollution with electricity from fossil fuels, but AFC Energy's CH2ARGE system can be 100% emissions free.

You would think that a year and a half later after the unveiling that they’d be a little more interest.

The EV charger has already been showcased and nobody wants it 7 months after the 2nd launch.
The list of reasons why there’s no sales grows longer by the day.
