Eco remains fully funded for a further drilling programme on the Orinduik Block and, subject to JV Partner approval, anticipates drilling at least two exploration wells into light oil cretaceous targets in 2021. Further updates on this matter will be made as appropriate.

To my mind, with various rumours doing the rounds about drilling programmes, it really is time shareholders were properly updated. There was a time Gil couldn’t be kept quiet, now he’s reluctant to say anything meaningful To shareholders.

Hmm, I wouldn’t be buying too much smart/cas clothing to sit in the lounge for weeks. Sosander (womens’ smart/cas) quickly acquired a load of lounging wear in the first lockdown, which sold really well and was a life saver. Can Ted do smart supply and marketing, as opposed to smart shirts etc..?

I don’t think we should take what TRP says about ECO in Namibia as gospel. Especially as the best map they can find is from 2017...

I still find it slightly strange that Eco haven’t so far been successful in farming out Namibia. I know that could change quickly after others Actually drill, but I’d have thought the seismic data (if sound) should have the greatest influence. Maybe Tullow can buy back in with their cash...

At least announce it and act on it. To leave it hanging like the sword of Damocles is crazy. For my sins, I also hold Kier who have left a maybe/possibly rights issue hanging for months and not surprisingly that’s now on the floor.

There’s certainly some weird stuff (manipulation?) going on with Eco.

Ian, yes I acknowledge the great effort at reducing overheads and outgoings which has a significant effect on the bottom line in the short term.. Ultimately, I feel it is core trading that is the most telling indicator, particularly in a recovery situation as it obviously provides greater clarity on momentum/demand. Brown is recovering on two fronts - Covid and the preceding awful patch. From results elsewhere I’d hope a huge bounce back from the Covid related fall off is a given but clearly myinterpretation of the latest update on trading was rather less upbeat than some of my fellow investors. But that’s fine and I hope they have it more accurately pegged than I do. The market consensus seems pretty flat going by the sp, but we shall all find out soon enough.

The recent update headlines said;
Highlights

· Improved product revenue trajectory through Q2 with 92% of product revenue now digital

· Financial services cash collection rates in line with the prior year

· Continued operating cost reduction reflecting agility of business model

· Reduction in debt underway and continuing

· Group continues to trade in line with its expectations.

The bottom line does not suggest a barnstorming performance, and references to improvements against the worst known trading period is hardly inspiring. I’d love this to really take off but can’t see it materialising based on the careful wording of the tu.

Amazing figures but, at circa 19% positive, way out of our league given the recent tu from Browns was suggesting results were down by about 17% year on year. Apples and pears...

To me, a new holder in at today’s low, it looks a positive at this early stage for Fitch to maintain their rating. My take is they accept TCAP’s value judgement for the medium to long term benefits - for now.
I like the look and feel of the ‘marriage’, and am persuaded by the company’s presentation of their rationale for the acquisition. Interesting times.

I use HL and had set a 140 buy order, but got ‘lucky’ when the sp suddenly spiked down so got in at 133. HL seem to be selling as required.

It’s an I’ll wind and all that, but the current employment situation means the company is well placed to benefit from a significantly larger pool of talent than otherwise would be available. Getting good quality staff is massively important, so this is a fortuitous time to be recruiting - however unfortunate that is in the wider sense.

It’s encouraging to see progress, but to be honest this could well see a return to 800p with continued prudent management covering all aspects of the business. Ted is gradually waking from his nightmares... Meanwhile, at current lows he could also possibly be a target for venture capitalists or similar. Time will tell, but I’m holding.

Given my earlier comments, I like their point that NG Brown saying trading ‘has been in line with expectations’ is a positive when historically they have not lately been able to make such a statement. It’s a back-handed compliment but the judgement is valid so I’ll take the more upbeat assessment...

Mushyd I’m not turning into a doomster at least. I don’t think I’m alone in a little bit of disappointment about the somewhat muted references to actual trading in the update given the apparent upswing in online business generally. Maybe the figures will be more telling. Meanwhile I have recently topped up and will probably do so again if the market takes it down too far.
