Again if it was about employing locals, that should have been researched and everything prepared and in place before the mine was opened. When the mine was ready to go, everything else should have been ready to go. Its called good management.

I really, really, really, really hope that's not true about not being able to get the staff. Surely some research was done before they spent billions building a mine. That really would take the biscuit, spending all that money opening a mine that they can't get enough staff to operate. I really hope that's not true, but we are talking about hummingbird here.

Good reply Alibi. Not sure how different it is doing the same thing in different countries, surely they have gained their reputation in various countries, which present different challenges. Not sure this one would present the with anything they haven't come across before. Unfortunately the the one constant that as made things difficult for hummingbird to really achieve is hummingbird management. If I had to guess which management team would make things not work. I would go for the one with a bad reputation, not the one with the good reputation.

So are you saying Hummingbird hired someone with a good reputation, or someone with a bad reputation in the industry Alibi?

Although they do only seem to have a problem when working with hummingbird, the have a good reputation through the industry. That's why hummingbird hired them. So once again its hummingbird having problems others don't seem to have.

What I would like to see are some pictures taken at the (new) mine, but instead of pictures of nice clean trucks and excavators etc all neatly line up with a team of blokes relieving a lecture. I had like to see pictures of laden trucks kicking up dust as the transport the good and a team of busy blokes making it happen. Where are those pictures? Anyone seen any pictures of any work being done? If I ran this company I'd have those pictures all over the net,not pictures of parked trucks.

We don't need any details like that Bpat, all we need is to blindly say this is going to fly and make woosh sounds, pick out random figures like 20p ago and everything will be fine, same as in the past.

Look are they back at work or not? If so why don't the company just release a statement to that effect? Look after the interest of the shareholders.

Well yes it looks good news, but before we get carried away let's remember the disagreement that stopped them working was about underperformance,let's hope they have resolved the issues that caused the underperformance and we see the consistent long term improvement. Otherwise we will be back to square one. Let's be optimistic for now though.

Yep if this gets to the mid 250s before div,I'm off, my modest, worst Bank account outperforms this. I think that's quite a worrying statement really. This is a very decent company, but investing in GB is so unattractive this days that even a decent company can't give you a decent return.
