I ditched UK Companies 10 years ago with the exception of a couple of fast growth Biotehchs, in the last 10 years I've made 780% return on FAANG and North American growth stocks, the UK is a waste of time.

The asset is out-licensed to a big pharma or diagnostics Company. That process would usually involve a large one-off up-front payment, followed by sales royalties.

I agree, the asset will almost certainly be sold giving the Company a large amount of cash necessary to accelerate clinical trials of Milciclib, Foralumab and the Anti IL-6r.

I expect getting drugs through phase 2 and phase 3 to approval will take tens of millions, possibly in excess of a $100m. The later the trial, the larger and more costly they become.

The future is astounding, and given the pipeline is now advancing quicker than predicted a year ago it does beg the question as to whether we could actually become cashflow positive in 2023 now.

I did the same, the video was interesting, their portfolio of companies is also interesting, I note it includes Wuxi Apptec and various other HK and China based Biotechs. This must surely be the way to go for any future equity raise although hopefully we won't need more, especially as we are due to generate a lot of cash in the coming years.

I get your point about being a portfolio Company, but Chi-Med will join a list of 121 Companies and a $34bn investment pool. Hopefully they will exercise their second $100m tranche in the next 18 months too.

Another great thing about this direct equity investment - the avoidance of very high Brokerage and Corporate fees associated with previous equity issues - Chi-Med gets to keep all of the proceeds and avoids a % commission on the funds raised

They have an interesting business model, akin to Private Equity in many regards
