Chi-Med Appoints Tom Held as Senior Vice President Commercial U.S.
We would like to extend a warm welcome to Tom Held, who today joins Hutchison MediPharma
International (HMPI), Chi-Med’s U.S. subsidiary, as Senior Vice President Commercial US. This hire is
the latest development in our strategy to expand our international footprint and supports our work to
build our R&D capabilities and bring our innovative medicines to cancer patients around the world.
Tom has over 30 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Large swathes of his career have
been dedicated to commercial oncology, highlighted by his two decades at Novartis in various
positions. He brings this experience to a new role designed to grow our commercial presence and
infrastructure in the US. Tom will focus on the potential launch of surufatinib in its first market outside of
China, as well as on future launches through Chi-Med/HMPI’s commercial platform.

Chi-Med Commences Expanded Commercial Activity with Elunate® in China
As of today, Chi-Med has commenced its expanded commercial activity with Elunate® in China.
Our commercial team will now be responsible for the development and execution of all local and
regional on-the-ground medical detailing, promotion and marketing activities, as announced on July 28,

Hong Chen, Chief Commercial Officer – China, said, “Today’s milestone marks an important step
