For me asos is stepping in the right direction. Topshop is a game changer and stops the drag of own brands not really growing or being the huge bulk of revenue

High street is just Primark bags. There’s no where else to get clothes from

Walked into the shop in Manchester today at lunch. Plenty of people in there. It looks like a bad location but it’s right next to sports direct, tik max and Poundland so very much getting target customers

Agree but surging copper imports to China atm with credit cooling. Could see a glut of stock soon

Selling the shares has nothing to do with how I said the brands will be presented on the website. It also has nothing to do with the fact that boohoo will not be selling third party clothing. You never "put it to rest" you just say the CEO (of the company you have a fair amount invested) is just lying - did you ever actually listen to the debs webcast or read the RNS in the end?

It's just not linked weather I hold or not. Its binary and I was spot on

The one thing for boo shareholders here is (and this is a big question) is if PLT isn't going on debs then the x-sell piece to make up is MISSING for a huge chunk of customers! Or if they are able to access debenhams from PLT and will the systems be smart enough to put into one package (ie drop a lipstick in with a dress)? If not it's two parcels going out so not the perfect synergy and potentially two parcels to go back. Worse case scenario is PLT can't access debs

@rag you see the Quiz comment this morning? No selling on Debs website. there isn't going to be ANY third party clothing on there. Does that not worry you? Or would you rather keep your shares near £4 by holding the higher GM% which the market (accountants with the BILLIONS to invest) are wanting

I have a core holding which I will be holding but in terms of adding I won't be until the copper stocks start to fall

It's piling up again at 165k tonnes now. There (in my view) never was an immediate shortage of copper, it will come in the next few years but for now theres no need to get caught here if prices lower/ ease

Had a walk around Manchester City centre at lunch and after work

Que for Zara was HUGE. Apart from that every other shopper had Primark bags. There were a handful of H&M bags

Yeah the high street was busy today but how long can it be sustainable when the only place to shop is Zara and Primark? I get there is shopping for leisure but how long till it’s pretty much just nipping into Primark and then grabbing food

Today opening up doesn’t worry me. Everyone who was “asos target range” had a Primark bag and tbh they were mostly small suggesting it was bits and bobs rather than clothes/ outfits

The main high street shop is now owned by asos! Let’s go buy some more

I think the shares are moving down as raising £500m although on great terms is admitting there is A LOT of big spending on the way. Asos had £92m of cash on the day it raised £500m so it wasn’t short of cash

This is again where U.K. undervalued these types of businesses as they view it as a heavy capex where the US sees it as “investment” which is certainly what it is

Asos should start to buy equity stakes in small up and coming brands. It needs to be more than a logistics reseller of third party brands but own more and more brands

That would provide a defensive moat around core brands and growth

Only had a handful of experiences with Aston but one was pretty special. The launch of Spectre I got invited down to a "launch day" at the MK site and the stunt man from the film drove us around in a "barely" road legal track car (around MK so a lot of straights, round about, straight, round about, straight) but that was fun

Also other bits I’ve posted are that boohoo won’t sell third party clothes through market place. I didn’t need to post these 25 quotes it was purely for the fact you don’t understand the RNS or think the Ceo during an hour long update was just lying

Rag you’ve said this in Oct and you said it again recently. You want third party clothing sales! You want boohoo to do huge amounts of whole sale

I make my points over and over and then I cut and paste bits to support my individual points. Ie like when you said the “platform was just a website” I gave you a quote from ten ceos of next, asos and boohoo to prove you wrong. You just can’t accept that your world has passed

No my comments and what you couldn’t pick up on the other week when I gave you 20 chances is you have to look at forecast expectations. This is what your small world of being a little factory supplier doesn’t understand

- boo do third party clothing sales = lower GM% the stock will fall
- boo do wholesale in a material capacity = lower GM% the stock falls

You think this is all about flinging a rag out to get a quick £. You’ve shown you don’t understand how to generate value. You obsesses over the small details (like camera) as thats the £4billion value in asos or boohoo. You don’t understand the big picture or value

Why own the shares if you hate how the business is run? If management are running the business wrong why invest? That’s literally insane!

People the issue is is your copy and paste stuff you clearly do t understand yourself. Sometimes stuff you post disproves your own points

Also this article picks up on boo’s test and repeat and how asos’s version of see what happens through third party brands is slower. Again rag in Oct thought the asos way was better when in reality it leaves you weeks behind. It’s because he actually doesn’t understand boohoo’s value drivers

Also people there some points in the article below that are just wrong or silly. But I bet you couldn’t pull them out as again it’s copy and paste with no real understanding

Yeah there has to be a huge upside before dilution. The idea being at that point you’ve made so much (which they funded) then you won’t care

The stock fell as (again) investors are having to look at a heavy amount of capex spending to fund the future

Asos is now “materially” moving revenue to own brand which will bring the higher margins. For me I’d like to see asos copying nexts idea of taking equity stakes in brands. Asos’s ace here is they can spot young emerging brands where as Next are paying big money for established brands (who don’t have the size to be proper and agile online businesses)

It will then be a bit like the big commodity traders (glencore etc) asos can then establish exclusivity over growth brands so seeing equity growth and then eating the lunch on the sales growing and getting paid for what asos does best ie the logistics

I think forward expectations weren’t raised as I think they are seeing the increased margin offset by headwinds. That way if things get better they can surprise to the upside

It’s not currently dilutive it’s a convertible bond. Atm they are still bonds and not equity (no dilution)

The protection for current shareholders is the convertible bonds will buy shares at £79 not the current price

It’s only dilutive if the shares in the future are worth more than £79. If they are worth less then no one will convert the bond

However if the shares are above that then yes there would be dilution but we’d be far enough past £79 and say on 50% profit from here that losing a little would be fair given that the 50% upside you’d be sat on was driven from the cheap cash you got from the bond

Seems an odd balance atm

More and more is flooding into the LME (historically it’s still very low) but then we are told Chinese smelters are getting hammered just to secure supply

My feeling is the Chinese picture is the reality but I’d like to see that LME number stop climbing!

Bought today

I've wanted in on Asos since the Topshop acquisition. Moving a tonne of revenue to higher margin and being able to unlock the true online growth is highly appealing and the update showed that this is underway

Thought the two consecutive strong dips were a good time to buy (bond raise looks smart)

Increase in returns may be an issue but with Topshop off the high street I don't see a huge dip from stores reopening

I get some on here like coal as it’s profitable and will be more so but the drag on the VALUE outweighs the profits

Shame Glen is less likely to have this option now as markets won’t need two of these pure coal assets
