Looks to me like woodford had no position in vod, but now has a small position, so not quite the black & white Gerry view!!!??? Come on Gerry, get your act together, joking of course!!

So are you saying you would consider buying vod shares at above £2 as long as the pound is strong, or do think a strong £ will push the sp below £2? Do you think if the conservatives got a big overall majority & the pound had risen, that the sp would have fallen. I must admit I was hoping for a big majority thinking that would be good for the vod sp, but was very relieved when the sp still rose. I think we live in risky times when the ftsi 100 is driven so much by exch' rates & interest rates.

I think the opening price on thursday (ex divi day) will strip out the divi, so if you sell on ex divi day, you will get a lower price but still get the divi, but if you buy then you don't get it. The term ex divi refers to buyers, so if want the divi you have to buy before ex divi date. I have always found the record date confusing, because its a day later,but I suppose its to do the delay to get you on or off the share register??

Best to open an account, you could try I G, Otherwise just google it. Last time i tried options on vod (c f d ,s) I lost 2 grand!! Never again. But you might be lucky!!?? I think to get live option prices you need to have an account. Personally I think if your not prepared to buy a share for the medium to long term, then don,t go there.

I say buy not sell, but if you want to sell & sell before ex divi date you are likely to get 8 or 9p more per share than if you sell after ex divi date, so you get the money now instead of having to wait until august for the divi. This point has been made many times by many people on this chat, but still some people, just don't get it. The divi is paid for by the share holders & comes straight out of the share price.

I think monday, back up to 232. Target 2.40 + by july!? minus ex divi.

Still underpriced,,but if you,r not in for the long run, take your profit/or cut your loss,(depending on your strike price). I think it,s clear that vod share',s are worth more than 2.30.

Perhaps not so crazy after all!!??, Goldman sachs 2.80,now looks possible, or even likely???!!! Then again vod sp hit 2.30 in june 2016, & then collapsed, so hoping for no repeat??!! But i'm in for the medium to long haul.

Charr, the sp's hit £2.20 twice today so shall we say double or quits, you £2 me £2.40 by year end?

Although up 2%, its actually up more than 9% in sterling from 11.45p last year to 12.70p this year. only problem is if next year exchange rates go back to last years rates , we could see a drop in the sterling divi!!
