Hello, & good luck, you seem a lot happier now days, Christmas is back on then? but we are hopefully going to £2 +. It's alright for you lucky one's who bought at 1.65, I paid over £2 for a lot of my vod shares.

So that's where Mrd went on his loooong vacation, he got bored losing all his money on vod, so now he is losing it all on PMO. instead. They say a change is as good as a rest!! Looks like he is definitely on a slippery slope now.

Totally agree, this is looking good now, still a long way back for me though to break even this year, but a few weeks ago these looked like they might go below 1.40. Anybody who bought then is laughing now.

The divi record date is simply the date you are put on the company's divi record to get the divi in over 2 months time. This is totally different to the day you have to buy to get the divi, which is the day before ex divi date. It is confusing I know, but please will you lot stop posting incorrect information. So to sum up, buy on the day before ex divi, while the l.s.e. is still trading (open) you get the divi. buy on ex divi day ,you don't. When you go on the record doesn't matter.

If I buy vod shares on the day before the ex divi at the price before the share drops to ex divi price then surely I get the divi. nuri123a said you had to buy up to 3 days before to get it, which is clearly wrong. That is all I said.

If you bought today, when the post was made i.e. wednesday, you would get the divi. I have no idea were you got the 3 day thing from.Please stop confusing everybody, as many are confused enough already!

Can you please explain your last post, it makes no sense, you do realise vod went ex divi today, taking 4.3p off the sp.

Well done with your prediction for the rise today, although I don't think it has anything to do with the ex divi tomorrow. Lets just hope it continues to rise tomorrow after ex divi drop at open.

Although I would like to wish you luck with your gamble, I hope the sp doesn't fall to 152 tomorrow, but rises strongly from approx open of 153.73. Are you basing your gamble on previous falls on ex divi day,or is it just a hunch?

Don't do it Tom, I predict a 1.53 open tomorrow, & rising. Don't forget you will loose about 1p on the sp in stamp duty & dealing costs. I think day trading is mugs game, unless you are a real expert. Just ask Mrd. But good luck anyway.

You get the divi in 2 months time, but the sp will fall by the same amount, so you gain nothing. But everybody please buy vodafone, so the price goes up!!

While I hope the sp does rise tomorrow, why do think it will rise because of going ex dividend, that doesn't make sense.

I didn't know whether hkp was British or not until he told me afterwards. But that's not point, I am British & am entitled to defend the British from being lazy.
