Ex divi date last year was 6 june, but i dont know when the amount will be announced. Anybody know, put us out of our misery? I am losing the will to live. Someone cheer me up, please? I have paid more that twice than that for many of my shares. More fool me ? But I don't pretend otherwise. I am a long term holder of vod shares, so I may get the last laugh in the long run? Who knows? Of course, supply & demand may not apply in modern trading, but common sense may suggest,that in the long run, it may well apply. altube. I agree, great price, You say yield is incredible, but how do you know the divi wont be cut?? Do you know what the final divi will be?? If you do, Please let me know. Divi cut = yield cut. Good luck though, & if I had a few spare 10ks , I would be buying more.

I had never heard of NCYT, but if I wanted to recommend it on a vod share chat, I would explain what NCYT stood for. I guess it's the company that fell 5% or so today & is related to a possible vaccine for covid 19. As for trrd, can I assume you mean turd? Just try & talk in way most can understand, not just your idea of the sharpest tools at understanding your illiterate drivel. Anybody can come up with a share connected to covid 19, but obviously risky. Anyway, good luck ZZtp, I think you will need it.

Hopeingmore. I give up with you. You just don't get it & I guess you never will. Fact , Share price will always fall by the divi amount at open on ex divi day. What it does after that is up to the market, up, or down. Unfortunately vod has a habit of falling after ex divi day, but I hope that will not happen in the future. I am very positive about vod, but ignorance from people like you worries me.

Hopeingmore. Share prices always fall by the divi on ex divi date. Of course they may rise back afterwards, or fall , depending on the market. How do you think they pay divi, it comes straight of the the market cap of the company. We the shareholders pay it, as we own the company,so we gain nothing. The advantage of a divi, is for getting an income without having to sell any shares. I don't know why so many of you just don't get this basic fact.

I hope you are right, & I think vod is a strong buy, but the difference between b/society or bank investments & shares is that with shares the divi comes out of the sp on ex divi day. That does not happen with bank/ b/soc investments. Very important point that many seem to ignore. If you just re invest the divi, you might be better off buying a share that doesn't a pay a divi in the 1st place if all you are doing is just paying it straight back.

VIPER, Well done with your vod purchase, but how do know the 7% divi will hold. I hope they don't, but vod may cut the divi, who knows, & we all know by now the divi just comes off the share price. Still a good buy though I think ,overall.
