Rumpel. If you only buy shares in an I.S.A. then you don't need to offset any profits because all your profits are tax free. There are only 2 reasons for buying shares outside an I.S.A. . If you invest more than £20k net a year, or if you have to pay extra to hold shares in an I.S.A. If the latter, then change your broker to one that doesn't charge. Paying tax when you don't have to is a mugs game.

Well done Dave. Fantastic finish today & yesterday. If we get to my short term target of 1.20, I intend to sell all my interactive Investor non I.S.A. Vod shares, close the account & buy some back up to my I.S.A. limit with my new broker. My advice is never buy shares outside an I.S.A. & don't use Interactive Investor. (rip off merchants)

Roofer. There were many reasons for the sp rise & the buybacks helped in my opinion. I think vod are still undervalued, but war doesn't help things. One thing I have learnt lately is how important oil is. Not just for fuel, but fertiliser & many other things. This just stop oil nonsense has been exposed as folly. Of course wind, solar power etc are very important though.
