avocet. Good luck with your investment. Like you I will keep vod shares, but it is very important, I think, to realise the difference compared to a savings account. With a savings account you are guaranteed to get your money back , but with shares you are not, although the potential return is much higher. As for you are only losing money from shares when you sell, well that's not true. I am losing money, but if I don't sell, I may get that money back! Big difference. But just hold is my advice, & hope for the best? I realise the words hope & I think don't go down well with some stock market investors, but that is the the real world, unless you have Mary's crystal ball of course?

Pokerchips. Surely the futures price on Tuesday would be the one to look at? Obviously the Monday futures price was before the results on Tuesday, so based on a lack of info that was available on Tuesday? I think most thought the results were good, perhaps the market now thinks otherwise? Do you base all you decisions on the futures market, surely as new news comes in, things change. I'm not trying to disagree with you, just trying to learn perhaps? but I can only do that if you show a bit more humility? Oh well! I just thought it might be worth a try?

Hello Mikey. Let's just hope it doesn't fall too much on ex divi day. Of course as you well know it will open down by the divi amount & then move up or down from that according to the underlying vod market. This a point I have made before, but narcus has completely missed, twice. Let's hope America can be kind to us in the meanwhile. I don't know what the sp will do in the future, & have never said otherwise, but I think it will rise? Wish full thinking perhaps?
