Newtotrp. There is no way vod will pay a special dividend. They have said they will increase the divi by a very small amount , but that may be increased more. The reason the vod sp is doing so well lately is because they are finally getting there finances under control. Don't forget, the divi will always come out of the share price on ex divi. 4% is great as long as the sp keeps rising. 0% is good if the sp keeps rising. Welcome to the stock market.

Newtotrp. The next divi paid in feb is about 1.96p. So at that rate of divi 3.92p per year, the annual yield would be about 3.74%. at an sp of 105p. 1.05 X 3.74%

Rob. I think it is you that has been on the bottle mate. I said quite clearly that vod has been a fantastic investment over the last 1 to 2 years up about 40%. I wasn't talking about those who paid £2, for which it has obviously been a bad investment. rob please read my post before responding. Whatever you are on, take it easy mate. Happy New year.

Hi rob. I think vod increasing the divi anymore than recently predicted is not a good move. Vod needs to pay down debt & continue share buy backs. The divi just comes out of the sp on ex divi day. Vod has a very sad history of paying dividends it simply could not afford. That has changed. If you want an income now you are retired , you can just sell some shares, get a cheap broker & don't auto re invest your divi. Have a good one Amigo & don't be fooled by high dividends. For me a 4% divi income is fine as long as the sp rises. Vodafone has been a fantastic investment over the last 1 to 2 years. Up about 40%.

Another good day for the vod sp, & great run lately, unless you are Garonne who thinks if the sp doesn't rise every day it is being held back by the mm's. 95p I think he said! As for me selling up, what are you talking about? I haven't sold any vod shares for years, & that was only to buy back into an I.S.A.. & I have been buying for the last 2 years or so. You seem to be very confused at times. Vod is having a fantastic run at the moment. mm's don't control the vod share price, it is mainly controlled by S.E.T.S. No wonder you are doing badly with vod if you are in & out like a yo.yo. Most day traders traders lose.
