In what world should this SP be 3 when its forecast to make 106m pre-tax profit this year, is 2.7 billion in debt and the divi is due to drop to 2p per share.
Holey moley, thats a big drop...
Pretty savage drop today... not sure about promotion now... plus this drop shows the SP is not wanting to break above the down trend line from mid last year. DYOR though
Yeah... so much for 130 holding
Good note about AA, the market is brutal at the minute... good results are shrugged off or a few % given, but even the slightest hint of bad news and the SP gets savaged... in my own opinion I think its SB firms and big hedge funds forcing prices to move to make money... with markets still at fairly high levels they know they can scare PI's into selling if they move the price around a bit.
I agree with everyone that says the likelihood of labour and JC getting in next time is slim, but your all missing the point. It doesnt matter whether they get in or not its the fact theres even a chance and that it keeps being talked about, the market HATES any uncertainty, and as long as the same people remain at the top of labour things wont change. And besides are the tories much better with their plans of price caps.
Wow, I was really annoyed when I decided to sell at 1.35 thinking I probably shouldn't have and it will recover as soon as I did. I'm glad I did now... I know stops can be annoying but sometimes they are the best way to take the emotion out of investing.
Hi guys, really enjoying reading this mature debate among investors. Much better than back stabbing and moaning on a lot of boards. As most of you have said its about making a call and having reasons behind it. I am definitely not the best investor in the world but I do know you have to keep learning. If your stubborn your not going to make it. And it works both ways, blindly believing this is going to go up when everything says otherwise will not make it so. And on the other hand when it does reverse saying it hasn't hit 'X' price so I'm not buying even though fundamentals are changing for the better wont work either. I feel because we're human is our biggest weakness, there's too much emotion and people lose money because of it.
Finally out of this today. Set a stop that should have been set a long time ago at a lot higher price, but finally hit it today. I feel this is going to drift and drift now, nothing seems to move it; not higher oil and gas prices, not talk of removing SVT's, not hitting a dividend level most investors dream about, not the coldest winter in several years both side of the pond... nothing. I would really consider if this is going up any time soon. Trend is your friend and sentiment in this sector is rock bottom. I'm not trying to deramp but sometimes you've got to face facts and admit you were wrong. God help the SP if labour get in, oil heads back down, global warming continues or customers keep leaving in droves.
Hi guys, thinking of putting a small amount in here but finding it hard to pull the trigger. Is it falling back to 110 area...anyone got any ideas? Cheers
