Exactly, it does give me jitters about Tuesday and whether it’ll be the classic buy the rumour sell the fact.
What’s anyone’s thoughts on what the results will be like?
The market clearly loves this share at the minute. I hope we get real fireworks on Tuesday. Lockdowns and staying in over the winter is only going to make things better! I can see this at 150p by the final results just based on PER alone.
It’s the amount we get after the loans and interest hovis had have been repaid. That’s how I read it anyway. Another nice chunk off our debt though if that’s what they use it for.
We all could be waking up to an RNS tomorrow then seeing as sky reported the deal could be confirmed this week!
I imagine sales of clothing and toys will be huge this year as there will be nowhere else to get these things from on the high street. Coupled with lots of smaller groups for Xmas dinner and festivities mean food sales will be very strong. Not sure it’ll get back to 250’s again but 230’s would be nice.
Agreed, I hope they upgrade the guidance as that will really light a fire under the SP. And a mention about who won the bid for Hovis would be nice.
With the return of lockdown just as our key earning season starts this could be an unbelievable year for PFD.
Well hopefully that’ll be then end of the “blip”. Still a chance it’s false dawn but I think people are realising that was a buying opportunity and with lockdowns all over the place online will be the only winner this Xmas! Hoping this’ll start a rise to all time highs in time for a record Xmas trading update.
I see the rally continuing after today’s blip. The price is still within the trend line from March/April time and hasn’t yet broken through.
Plus with new restrictions likely all over the country people will have no where to turn to except online for their Xmas shopping. Don’t underestimate how important Xmas is for the likes of ASOS, and this year it’s virtually a captive audience!
I think one of the most impressive parts of the results is the change in debt to cash position. I read an article that said institutional investors would be very impressed if this went from negative to positive. Bodes well for SP at 8:00.
I’m getting really tempted to sell out now after yet another “revelation” in the news today. I’ve ridden this share up from just below 300p but I just feel as the media are being so relentless it’s only a matter of time until something is found and reported that savages the SP. I know this might not happen but they’re dredging the very bottom to find anything they can use against them at the minute.
I know it’ll be bad for leister but I genuinely think the BOD need to move as much production oversees as possible to avoid these problems in the future.
I wonder if the BOD would be interested in parts of the business if pea****s goes under. Pea****s probably not, but Edinburgh woollen mill might be a good buy. Part of their problem at the minute is older people won’t go out to shop. So if they put EWM online they may tap into that demographic long term if the online habits stick.
Now we're motoring... great rise today and yesterday. Makes me wonder if some news is about to drop.
Great rise this week. Can’t believe for once I got in on a low point. Surly heading to 100p this time. It just needed to consolidate for a while.
Another national lockdown being discussed now. With pubs and restaurants potentially closed. Can see that lighting a fire under the SP if it happens. Plus Hovis news, ftse250 upgrade and moving into our sales strong period over the winter. Plenty to keep the momentum going.
I would say some news has definitely broke in the city. Rises like this don’t happen for no reason. And the city always know before we do.
In my opinion I would expect the SP to be savaged. By the time you could do anything about it the price would make it not worth selling at such a loss. So I would hold on, maybe try average down when i thought it was near its lowest and then try forget about them for about 2 years. In that time they will have been crucified by the media, turned themselves around, built their new factory and hopefully come back stronger.
It’s important to remember there’s very few companies that won’t be caught up in some controversy at some point. Just look at Rio recently blowing up historical sites.
