Whitto''s post from 15:45 once again spot on. Get a grip people. What did you think that the share price would just keep inexorably rising with no bumps along the way? I appreciate that people who bought in late last week may be down, but the company you have bought into is no different to the one at which you deemed that share price a good price. If it was nothing more than a gamble, well then there you go. Some people are behaving like they're clutching a few tokens at a fairground and despondently saying "Oh, I didn't win".

I've been incredibly fortunate with this one. Bought in at 3.7p, within three weeks it rose to 16p and I sold half my holding as stated at 15p, retaining the other half. As much luck as judgement, But with the remaining holding I'm not remotely concerned - there will be swings and roundabouts and some of them will be large with a microcap AIM listed share.

A little more backbone and a few fewer tiaras and tantrums!

Hear hear Whitto. It’s hard to tell what’s in shorter supply on here, patience or bottle! Each must do what suits them best and use their judgement, but these wild statements (upside and downside) based on a couple of hours of trading do become quite tedious, even aside from the ones with blatant agendas. If you’re not prepared to ride out some of the bumps in the long road then either a) you’re in the wrong game or b) accept the consequences of your own decisions, for better or for worse.

Thanks Thurgarton. I had thought that the previous statement was around a 12.8% holding for Ervington but perhaps it was significantly outdated information. An interesting time for this company in the near and mid-term future, irrespective.

Thanks spurious, quite possibly the best post I have read on here, especially on the question of domestic/global. A couple of questions from a relative newbie here.

Is it clear what the purpose limitations of the FC4 grant funding are? I can see that it’s capital purposes only but is the intention with Altalto that further grant funding would contribute towards plant construction? Or other capital costs of developing the technology at scale? Or not altogether clear?

Since you posted, it looks as though the recent accumulator may have been RA’s vehicle, but do I infer correctly that you think/thought it may be RDS hoovering up on the basis they may make an offer themselves at some stage relatively soon? Apologies if I’ve misunderstood.

Well said Groover. There’s little point in these sorts of forums existing if people can’t share, ask questions and learn without fear of being lambasted or ridiculed.

For what it’s worth, I often find the most informed people or people best equipped to do in-depth research are the same holders who have been in for years whist it did FA or need it to go through the roof just to get their money back. And they wear it like a badge of honour!

I’m also new holder here, since yesterday morning, thanks to a mention over on the VLS forum.

Mr T and Tex, following our VLS exchange about other holdings, I’ve also done some homework and reinvested some of the VLS spoils here and in SKIN (and in ORCP which was also mentioned). Thanks Mr T and I think lunam (?) for pointing this way.

I quite agree YBD. It's like being 4-0 up in the cup final and then only winning it 4-2. Its still a great win! And days, weeks, months of potential further gains ahead. Even if it stabilises now for a while, its still a huge win for many holders, if not all.

Have just sold 50% of holding 15.15p having bought at 3.7p three weeks ago. Will hold remaining 50% for longer term. Good luck to those with a stronger stomach than mine!

I manage my girlfriend’s portfolio as well as my own. We’re each holding 40-60% cash at the moment in anticipation of a major correction and plenty of opportunities. About a month ago she said she wouldn’t mind a stake in something fairly speculative. I’ve always said I wouldn’t invest her money in anything I wouldn’t invest in myself. So I identified Velocys and three weeks ago we bought in at 3.7p and I said i’d come in with her and take 25% of her holding. So whilst I’m delighted for myself that this is doing so well, so soon, 75% of it is on her behalf! Perhaps I should start charging her a management fee! Well done to all holders, especially the long term ones - you deserve it!

So this is the big buyer last week/this week you think? And the TR1 would stimulate further activity because it will alert other investment/mutual funds or similar to the opportunity? These are genuine rather than rhetorical questions! Thanks.

I also think its interesting to see what like-minded holders are involved in elsewhere so will take a look at MWG and SKIN.

Its not nearly as micro and hardly a secret but one I have been building an interest in is SCPA, which I think is significantly undervalued at present. As a speculative punt, I have some holding in IIP which could have some decent mid to long-term prospects if it can weather the interruption. For the most part, I'm holding cash and waiting for the big correction that is surely coming!

Must admit, I’m surprised by how well U.K. markets have held up this morning. I expected a c.3-4% drop in the indices today. Must be some value hunting going on.

You think this share is a turkey and that’s why you’ve chosen to take no holding in it. Fair enough, we get it. If we all thought the same then markets wouldn’t exist. So let’s just take it as read that you think it’s a turkey - there’s no need to keep making the same point. If you are on here with the intention of deramping, you might want to look for another vocation, as it’s clearly not very effective!

In terms of what you outlined yesterday, it looks as though the 4.76 offered some resistance but the 4.90 relatively little. So potential resistance at 5.28 and then 5.68?
